Here is a custom / PROMO release for My Blue Heaven [VBR].
This 1990 film is a favorite of mine! Steve Martin and Rick Moranis were the stars for this GREAT comedy! So quotable….so funny! Damn near every scene is a comedic treasure to me!
I would watch this with my Dad often and we loved both the film and it’s music.
I fell in love with the fun score that Ira Newborn provided. It made me very happy. The main theme was based off of the classic, "My Blue Heaven" song in that very catchy, "Ira Newborn" style!
I was saddened to learn that there was NO OST ever released for this film. This was one of my "holy grails".
In the summer of 2008, I actually emailed Ira Newborn himself and asked if there would ever be a release for his score. I was BLOWN AWAY when he replied!
Not only was he very friendly he also sent a few songs from this soundtrack. I COULDN’T BELIEVE IT!!!!!! THE MERENGUE!!!!!!!!!! YESSSS!
I held on to these special tracks for over a decade and now I want to share them with you all! There was another user (Williamtaylor1969) here who seemed to have also received a few of
these tracks and he shared them here: Thread 79407 . His version included the mainstream songs from the film as well as the PROMO
from Ira Newborn. I decided to add those songs to my release as well to make this short release as "complete" as possible.
A (poor)DVD rip of several of the various main theme versions are here too….again….poor quality with SFX.
I am VERY excited to share this LITTLE treasure I acquired over 10 years ago with you now!
(Hopefully the COMPLETE OST is released in the near future!)
Enjoy!

Right on man!
However, just to clarify, this IS NOT the same version that William shared back in 2010.
My version was sent to me by Ira Newborn himself. The Beach Merengue Mix in this set is around 20 seconds longer and has a clean ending unlike William’s set.
Mr. Newborn also included this track, "Love To Lust – D.H. Lawrence Was Right" that was not in William’s set.
Also, the "Opening Theme" is different than what William posted (even though my version has a weird sound effect at the end lol).
I did, however, credit William in my main post since he ALSO was sharing a version of this PROMO because I felt it was the right thing to do since this is indeed a special share that we were both passionate about.
The only track William has in his set that I do not have in mine is the DEMO Cue for the Beach Merengue Mix.
But I just wanted to be clear: my version is in fact different than his. I offered him a few of the additional tracks from this set in his original post here Thread 79407
Enjoy and have a good day! 😉
On behalf of women, Id like to add that, besides Martin and Moran, Joan Cusack has also a superb performance.
Thanks a billion StarFox for sharing your version of the soundtrack.
In addition, responding to slanders352’s wish, I also thank William Taylor and support his return, although I haven’t his version and haven’t heard of him before (please folks, notice this is a joke, but in fact I’d very much like to have Taylor’s version).
Thanks in advance.

You are correct…Joan Cusack is ABSOLUTE GOLD in this film! She usually is in most of her roles (Did you see her in Grosse Point Blank? LOL)
I still have William’s version. When I get around to it I will send it your way. Thanks!

Okay! I stand corrected! I thought that it was the same and wanted to give William some credit for his original post! perhaps in the future, you can get more score tracks on this, one of my favorite films! Thanks for sharing!
Steven
LOL, My man that’s what I’m talking about! I believe that "thousand thanks" is more valuable than a REP point.
Thanks a lot and enjoy! 😉
Steven
No worries my man!
Anyone who tries to get more of this film’s music out there deserves kudos. William was definitely one of them ;).
If I ever do acquire more tracks for this score…you can bet this will be the first place I share it!
Wouldn’t it be nice if one of the soundtrack labels releases the full OST eventually?
You got it!
Latest PM links sent! 😉
You got it! 😉
Exactly! I too was searching for decades! So thankful that we have this at least…until the official release comes (hopefully)
Enjoy!
"Are you trying to say ‘Capisce’? Well, don’t do it! It hurts my ears when you do it!"
Thanks, Steven
Thanks, Steven
