That’d make sense if this were actually the same Kong that was in the film. Though it certainly would be something if Howard Shore was hired for this one.
I honestly thought more people liked this, considering the positive response it got from some of the friends who heard it. I guess when you have more RCP scores released daily, some just inevitably don’t have as much attention.

I have yet to see the film so I had no clue it wasn’t the same Kong, whatever sense that makes.. I tend to ignore franchises that ignore musical continuity. I’d take James Newton Howard or Howard Shore any day. They’re safe bets because they’re that good. I like Henry Jackman, in fact he’s my favorite RCP “composer”, but I have no clue what they were going for in this film and score. I can’t grasp onto anything thematically. A lot of the cues are so short and uneventful that I often asked myself “why are you doing this to yourself?”
To each his own though. I’m sure many will appreciate this. I unfortunately am not one of them.
