What are the best songs from the Sega Mega Drive? For me it’s packed full of awesome 32-bit music, and some of the music makes me feel so nostalgic. Here are my favourite songs from the classic console! 😀

What are your favourite songs and soundtracks from the Mega Drive/Genesis? 🙂

The whole soundtrack to "The Terminator" (1992) is probably my favourite of that era, I do have a soft spot for the track Holocaust.

Hard to whittle it down! We did a 64-soundtrack rumble dedicated to the Genesis 8 years ago, and much of that music (and even what didn’t end up in the final 64) has stuck with me. It’s actually been in my playlist every day recently with Analogue about to release the Mega SG. Some that come to mind:

Adventures of Batman and Robin – Great early Jesper Kyd
Alien Soldier – That scream at the beginning of "Alone Z"
Devilish – Great early Hitoshi Sakimoto
Gunstar Heroes – The Ancient Ruins
Landstalker – Good adventuring music
Master of Monsters – I not only love the atmospheric tunes, but the richly evocative song titles like "Standing in the White Fortress"
The Ooze – Music to go to war by Howard Drossin
Pulseman – This is such a cool soundtrack by Junichi Masuda
Quackshot – Duckburg is the possibly the biggest earworm on the system and will never not be stuck in my head
Ristar – Best soundtrack on the system not in the Sonic or Streets of Rage franchises?

Some good stuff there I forgot about! The Genesis seems underrated when it comes to video game music I feel.
