I�m no expert but in listening to the music, I feel like some of the duplicates sound like inserts or alternate versions. I know the slates don�t mention that, but that�s just my take.

Why some tracks are duplicate, and on different reels? For example, there is 6m54 Fight Of The Bumblebee and then 7m54 Fight Of The Bumblebee. There’s 6m56 Paxton Tazes Scott In Yard and then 7m56 Paxton Tazes Scott In Yard. And there’s also 7m62 Thank You Paxton and 8m62 Thank You Paxton. And many others examples. I mean, if they were alternates, then they at least would probably be on the same reels.

If you look on the first page, you can see a link to the known slates for the film. I have not a chance to give the score a proper listen, and it’s been forever since I’ve seen the movie, but it becomes apparent that in most cases the tracks appear to be mislabeled.
The slates use the following format:
[reel number]m[track number][sub letter] [title]
on the slate list, both the reel number and track number advance, however, in the listing provided for this album, track numbers are out of order compared to reel number
If you put the tracks in track number order, all the duplicates line up, and it seems the error is in the assignment of reel numbers.
What I don’t know is which is the regular version, which is the alternate, and which might just be from the score album mislabeled.

Will write back when I have had a chance to listen to all of it, hopefully by the end of this weekend.

I’ve given the score a basic listen to. Thank you again for offering it.

The bad news, these are not exactly the recording sessions. Some of it is definitely previously unreleased, as well as alternate cues.
However, it also includes all the cues from the album. These tracks are all louder than the other cues, so I believe they were sourced from the album and renamed to make them appear to be recording cues.

The worse news is that the previously indicated slate list is also wrong, as it is clear that tracks listed as having alternate titles are, in fact, different tracks. (Also the track Insecticide is clearly from early in the film than the cue list indicates.)
So it is very difficult to tell what is what, and what is an alternate or not, and so on.
I’m not an expert on the film, so I’m not very useful in determining what the actual order is, as well as which cues are primaries, and which are alternates.

The good news is that random spectrum checks indicate that they are all genuine flac, and not transcodes.

I’ll have a revised track list combing what I’ve learned at a later date.

Here’s what I’ve got. It’s not perfect, but it is less problematic than the list we have now. It adds overall track numbers, and mentions which ones are actually soundtrack cues. The sequence clearly has problems. That, as well as which cues are film cues and which are alternates, are purely speculative, and await someone with the patience and resources to go through the film cue by cue.

Okay, here we go. I watched Ant-Man and matched the recording sessions close as I could to what is heard in the film. For the most part, things seemed to line up properly. There were a few cues that went unused as far as I can tell with licensed music in their place, but I only used my intuition so please correct me if I’m wrong. Some areas were a little difficult to decipher, mostly action sequences, and some areas in the film may have also been tracked, I’m not familiar enough with the new material yet to know, but I’ll make any notes where necessary. Well the previous sorting you did was a guidepost to me so thank you for that work. I did go through it again, too. None of the inserts are used, they sound like alternates to segments already in their parent cues, at least that’s what I’m assuming. The album version of 5m41 ends at about 1:30 but it carries on for a little longer in the film. I’m pretty sure that 5m34 is unused as a whole, also. The album version of I’ll Call Him…Antony ends at 0:55 but also carries on a little longer in the film. Where these extra pieces are, I have no idea. They could be somewhere in the alternates but I feel like we don’t actually have everything. But I hope I’m wrong on account of laziness lol. The first 1:03 of Honey, I Shrunk Myself is actually the cue I couldn’t find before 2m18 but now I noticed there’s a short cue right after 2m18 when Luis floods the bathtub that I can’t find.

I did my own edits for the beginnings of Honey, I Shrunk Myself and I’ll Call Him…Antony and since I’m not sure if they have different cue names or belong to different cues, I just made up titles on my own. The first is Showertime and the second is Shrink ANT Grow, I’ll file them into the list I made earlier. That’s about all I’ve got though, if I’m wrong somewhere don’t hesitate to say. I’m sure what I did isn’t perfect

I’m compiling the revised list, but I noticed that some on the issues I had with the track lists were unaddressed. For example, the format appears to be:
[Reel Number]m[Cue Number][Sub segment if any]
Both must be ascending, so once the first number changes from, say, 6 to 7, it can’t then go back, which it does a lot in the original track list and your revised one. (Unless you have specific official source that indicates otherwise.)
I’m also trying to see which specific cues in the file match which revisions, which I’m not always sure of in your list.
Should have a revised list in a bit.

So is [3m24b Jello Shot] an alternate of [1m12b Jello Shot] or is it a reused cue as part of [3m24 Second Chance]?
I stand by my contention that [San Francisco, 1987], and [Your Mom Died a Hero] are near each other, but do not strike me as alternates. Album time is precious, why would they waste it with two version of the same cue?
There are two cues called [Ant Trap], one is 2:50, the other is 2:14. Do you now which is the Alternate?
The same thing occurs with [Out of Ant-frica]. One is 1:20, the other is 1:04. Do you know which is the Alternate?
