I used a tool to extract the music from a single large file. The extracted music was wav, proper 16 bit (not 4bit Adpcm), but unfortunately only had a sampling rate of 22KHz, so all frequencies above 11KHz are absent. The music certainly ain’t going to win the Loudness War; only 1 track (Cathedral) has a peak near 0 Dbfs; the rest are very quiet. Another thing to note is that most of the music is designed to loop and thus lacks a defined start and end (no fades). I might try remastering it because of these shortcomings.
I converted the files to Flac in order to save space, and then added some Tags. No alterations were made to the actual music data.

REQUEST: Is anyone able to share a copy of the msuic from the CD release of Ultima IX (Original Music from Ultima IX: Ascension)? All I can unearth online is a low bitrate MP3 rip; a lossless upgrade would be awesome. Also, does anyone have the music from Ultima X: Odyssey? The game was cancelled, but the music had already been recorded, and was leaked online in lossless 8 years agon on MegaUpload. Of course MegaUpload was taken down by the Feds soon after, and the music is gone 🙁
Thanks in advance!
Actually, the file still seems to be there in my account. Perhaps I just got the syntax wrong?
Abramelin: I’ve a copy of Chris Field’s Ultima X: Odyssey, which is 31 tracks long. I can upload it in a few hours.
Happy to share artistic goodness that’s been abandoned with others when I can!
Ultima X: Odyssey is up for anyone who wants it (https://mega.nz/#!NLBkiaJb!Sd5l3088r7Kb81WBDNFrVHMK0AUOeofeP9XsIZp-WDo)!
