Thats a bit difficult to tell.
First of it depends if you want to follow the original german score or the US / International one.
If you want a representation of the US score, theres another issue: None of the additional score by Giorgio Moroder was ever released. All the tracks available on CD are "remixes" of those tunes, but not the versions heard in the film.
Except for the Ivory Tower score none was ever leaked.
Anyway, heres what you would end up with:
German Release:
01. Klaus Doldinger – The NeverEnding Story (Title Theme, German Release) [2:47]
02. Klaus Doldinger – Fantasia [0:52]
03. Klaus Doldinger – In The Howling Forest [3:03]
04. Klaus Doldinger – Ivory Tower (German Release) [1:54]
05. Klaus Doldinger – Atreju’s Quest [2:49]
06. Klaus Doldinger – Theme Of Sadness [2:39]
07. Klaus Doldinger – Artax’s Death (German Release) [3:13]
08. Klaus Doldinger – Morla, The Ancient One [2:29]
09. Klaus Doldinger – Atreju Meets Falkor [2:29] = In the Film, only the beginning is used and the track fades to "Happy Flight".
10. Klaus Doldinger – Happy Flight [3:13]
11. Klaus Doldinger – The Three Magic Gates [2:37]
12. Klaus Doldinger – Riddlegate [0:40]
13. Klaus Doldinger – Mirrorgate [0:30]
14. Klaus Doldinger – The Southern Orakle [2:10]
15. Klaus Doldinger – Ruined Landscape (German Release) [1:11]
16. Klaus Doldinger – Gmork [0:26]
17. Klaus Doldinger – Flight To The Ivory Tower (German Release) [3:04]
18. Klaus Doldinger – The Childlike Empress [2:17]
19. Klaus Doldinger – Moonchild [1:21]
20. Klaus Doldinger – Happy Flight (End Title) [1:20]
21. Klaus Doldinger – Credits (Unreleased, German Exclusive) [2:28]
International Release:
01. Limahl – Never Ending Story [3:29]
02. Klaus Doldinger – Fantasia [0:52]
03. Klaus Doldinger – In The Howling Forest [3:03]
04. Giorgio Moroder – Ivory Tower (Unreleased Score) [1:13]
05. Klaus Doldinger – Atreju’s Quest [2:49]
06. Klaus Doldinger – Theme Of Sadness [2:39] = Not sure if this is heard in the US cut. But it was released on the corresponding soundtrack CD in 1984.
07. Klaus Doldinger – Morla, The Ancient One [2:29]
08. Klaus Doldinger – Atreju Meets Falkor [2:29] = In the Film, only the beginning is used and the track fades to "Happy Flight".
09. Klaus Doldinger – Happy Flight [3:13]
10. Klaus Doldinger – The Three Magic Gates [2:37]
11. Klaus Doldinger – Riddlegate [0:40]
12. Klaus Doldinger – Mirrorgate [0:30]

14. Klaus Doldinger – Gmork [0:26]
15. Klaus Doldinger – Flight To The Ivory Tower (German Release) [3:04] = In the US / International cut, only the beginning is used and the track fades out.
16. Giorgio Moroder – Ivory Tower (Reprise, Unreleased) [1:13]
17. Klaus Doldinger – The Childlike Empress [2:17]
18. Klaus Doldinger – Moonchild [1:21]
19. Klaus Doldinger – Happy Flight (End Title) [1:20]
20. Limahl – Never Ending Story [3:29] = In the film, an unreleased cut of the song is used wich ommits the piano & guitar solo but has an additional vocal part before only featured in the "12′ Mix" but without the weird reverb from said 12" version.
Thanks very much.
Thank you ^_^
Well, now the link is available on the first message. I think it’s because NightHawkFur received really too many requests! 🙂
04. Klaus Doldinger – In The Howling Forest [3:03] **
The part you are looking for is right at the end. 😉
Just a note, Track 22 is actually used in the International release, not just the German. It’s correct title translates as Spook City, I believe.
Is the music from the scene where Artax wakes up Atreyu by the stream anywhere to be found, by the way?

This isn’t the music heard in the International version where they all depart. Do you have the whole blu ray rip? I’d love to go through the whole thing.

Yes, that is what I was looking for. I remember youtube having it a few years back but I can’t seem to find it now.
Sadly I only own the german blu ray, where this song is definitely used.
P.S. Is the track (The Auryn) from previous albums included in this custom set under a different name or was it left off?
Damn, I forgot "The Auryn" was the official english title for "The Childlike Empress" track. I just translated it from german, lol. Will be fixed along with the "Spook / Haunted City" goof mentioned above.
The Track "Bastian’s Happy Flight" was renamed to "Happy Flight" on purpose, since this version of the track is first heard when Atreju rides falcor and not when Bastian does later. (In the film, both US & German cut, the track is faded in after the intro of "Atreju Meets Falcor". So the second portion of "Atreju Meets Falkor" isn’t even used in the film. (Sounds alot like a "last minute" change done for the movie, since the second portion of Atreju Meets Falcor is basically a different version of the Happy Flight theme)
I left the later track from the US CD "Happy Flight" as is and just added "End Title" translated from the german track-title for it. This version is also never used in the film (only if you count the terrible german stereo mix done for DVD years later, where it is faded in during the credits)
The "Happy Flight" tracks are a giant mess in particular it seems, lol.
10. Klaus Doldinger – Creature Of Darkness [0:12] (A shorter version of the gmork track)
11. Giorgio Moroder – Artax’s Death [4:30]
15. Klaus Doldinger – Sleepy Dragon [1:16]
The latter 2 contain "some" SFX that were sadly mixed into all channels and can’t be removed. No dialogue though. The rest was too plagued by sfx in my oppinion to be worth adding.
The title Limahl track’s film version sadly can’t be put together satisfactory. While it does appear at the beginning and end of the film, they have put more echo on the openings vocals and also vastly different EQ.
(I managed to extract a pretty good acappella though you can check out here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Svms1jWvQFg. Quality sucks a bit because of the way Movie Maker handles mono audio)
It is around 17:58 and 19:12 on the US version.
Too many SFX though I think for adding (I ripped my US Blu-ray).

Are these in the archive? I downloaded it again but they’re not in there.
Mega.nz must have messed it up, I definitely selected "update files". Well anyway, new link posted that definitely works. Sorry for the inconvenience. :

No need to apologise, your effort is appreciated. Can I ask where you got the clean version of the Ivory Tower theme from (the US film version, not the album version)?
Did you rip all the audio channels in Movie Maker?

Absolutely no problem at all, we’re all lucky you took the time to compile and post this. "Artax’s Death" sounds great, so far superior to the album version.
10. Klaus Doldinger – Creature Of Darkness [0:12] (A shorter version of the gmork track)
11. Giorgio Moroder – Artax’s Death [4:30]
15. Klaus Doldinger – Sleepy Dragon [1:16]
Excellent! Film version of Artax’s Death is my favourite one.
Thanks again, NightHawkFur!
I HOPE SO !!!
But I doubt the master tapes for the german soundtrack even exist anymore. For example: When they edited the US film, they actually cut THE ORIGINAL FILM NEGATIVES. When the blu ray was released in Gerrmany, they first used the US film and poorly cut the german audio track for it, and later (after lots of people complained) for the actual german film version they had to use a cinema dub tape to fill the missing scenes and frames.
Luckily most of the german cues were released anyway. There’s only 3 I can think of that didn’t make it onto the cd, and i’ve included them in this set ripped from the blu-ray (creature of darkness, sleepy dragon & end credits).
There is a music cue by Doldinger after Atreju killed Gmork and the Fantasia is going into pieces. That tune is still unreleased in any edition (official or bootleg).
Thank you very much!
Thanks in advance!
