Being unfamiliar with the work of the authors, my first listen to this was a great earthing to discharge musical static off the brain. Its simple harmonic palette adds what’s needed to the organic layer, and the sound landscapes created felt, more than electronic-ish, sort of mineral, like made from the rocks and ice of the movie (or, also possible, that’s just my bias after watching it).

Also loved what they did with the percussion. I’d rather feel this soundtrack than observe it, but it was pleasant to focus on those drums undistracted by the fear of the sky falling on my head.
