This is something of a spiritual successor to my earlier post (Thread 225246) on this topic.

The more I listen to the score of Solo: A Star Wars Story, the more I’m enjoying it.

The final track Dice and Roll has a great crescendo leading to nothing. It’s the end of the album. An obvious solution is to simply program The Adventures of Han there, but I kind of like that track as an overture, and anyway, I felt Dice and Roll really led well into the classic Star Wars finale. I also felt that the end credits suite was a pretty good summation of the score, and the play-out on Flying With Chewie made for a more satisfying conclusion.

Now that the movie is out on digital, Blu-ray and 4K UHD, the end credits in lossless is only a few mouseclicks away. There already has been an excellent capture posted here (Thread 226714).

HOWEVER, the transition from Dice and Roll into the end title in the film sounds screwed up to me, like somebody scooted it by accident on the timeline during the editing process, and it was never caught until the film was released. I don’t know if this is true or not, that’s just what it sounds like to me, so I decided to make a custom edit with a smoother transition which is what I think was actually supposed to happen there.

I also happened to like how the piece flowed in my previous assembly with the longer, album version of Lando’s Closet, so I made an alternate edit of Dice and Roll that incorporates that track instead of the shorter film version.

Each package contains three files that can be slotted into the existing album as one sees fit:

Lando’s Closet (Film Version) Cue isolated from the end credits.

Dice and Roll Film accurate edit of the end credits, albeit with the aforementioned smoother transition between Dice and Roll and the titles.

Dice and Roll (Alternate) Identical to the previous track, but with the album version of Lando’s Closet in place of the film version.

The Dice & Roll / End Credits transition sounds fine to me. Thanks for the film version of Lando’s Closet.

Thanks! It’s sad that the credits track wasn’t included in the official album.
