Recording session’s tracks nomenclature

Can anyone write an answer there to those questions? Or explain here what are the differences in that naming system? Or at least refer me to some article or post about that subject?

why just not use one system?

I mean what is the difference between using "alt" to denote an "alternative" version, adding letters in alphabetical order and using "v" to denote "version" of a cue?[I]
