"Pre-release Edition"
by Gustavo Santaolalla

This is a compilation of all the available music I could find that’s been heard in the three trailers for The Last of Us Part II, in the best possible quality.

This hasn’t been edited to be heard exactly like it does in the trailers, but rather like an album featuring some of the score and a couple of songs from the game. Think of it as a little pre-release edition to the official soundtrack.

It features a short section of the score (possibly the main theme) with minor sfx I couldn’t remove, which I actually think adds to the atmosphere of the music, wind, trees, birds etc.
The second part of the album is complied of a couple of songs; Through the Valley (Performed by Ashley Johnson "Ellie"), Little Sadie (Performed by Crooked Still) and an instrumental version of Crooked Still’s Ecstasy.
Last but not least, MaaSel (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=523476) gracefully provided info and a link for The Last of Us (Cycles). This is a rip of the Mondo Vinyl (https://mondotees.com/products/music-from-the-last-of-us-part-ii-7-inch) by TheRogueEwok (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCf7eouqdKV8Foe4JgWTcEAg). Since it’s vinyl, I’ve done my best to remove all the pops, crackles and noise featured in the rip and later re-mastered slightly for a cleaner sound.
MaaSel also pointed out that the uploader of the vinyl accidentally played the 45 RPM record at 33⅓ when he ripped it. I then changed the speed and pitch to what it’s supposed to sound like, shortening the song by an entire minut!

If, however, Naughty Dog should release more trailers or previews, this album can always expand.
But until then if you want music from The Last of Us Part II, this is probably what you want 😉

*converted to ALAC for iTunes compatibility

1. The Last of Us Part II
2. Through the Valley
3. Little Sadie
4. Ecstasy (Instrumental)
5. The Last of Us (Cycles)

Duration: 14:07

Stereo – ALAC 44.1 kHz (https://www.dropbox.com/sh/uykh0q0onnn56ae/AAD69VPCPfGjx8QNKImisaVsa?dl=0) (141MB)

Enjoy! 😀

I personally cannot wait for someone who got lucky during E3 to upload the lossless rip of the vinyl (https://vgmdb.net/album/78369). Or maybe it’ll happen in August when the rest of the vinyls go out.

I’m especially looking forward to ‘The Last of Us (Cycles)’. Someone uploaded their rip to YouTube and it already sounds pretty neat, even in that quality. In case anyone is interested and maybe you want to include it in your release for the time being OP: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kpTvwcLlhyY

I’d propose to you if only for the instrumental version of Ecstasy, my guy. Thanks!

I’ve updated the album slightly and added (Cycles) as the fifth song 😉

Just saw you updated your post and since you ripped the audio from the video I linked to, the uploader later confirmed in a comment that he accidentally played the vinyl at the incorrect speed of 33⅓ RPM instead of 45 after someone who also had the vinyl pointed out the wrong pitch. I still like it though. Sorry if this makes things more complicated for you.

Speed and pitch should be corrected now, thanks for the heads-up again 😉
