NOTES
This album was shared before but only in mp3 format. I purchased it recently and thought it deserved to be uploaded in all its FLAC magnificence. It compiles the 10-year collaboration between Philippe Sarde and Film Director, Pierre Granier-Deferre. Some of these films such as �Le Train�, �Le Chat� or �La Veuve Couderc� have become French Cinema Classics. I encourage you to read the booklet which transcribes some very frank and touching words from Pierre Granier-Deferre towards his composer and the type of relationship they had. We also learn that Philippe Sarde wrote the whole score for �Le Train� based on the screenplay and before shooting even began. �He composed it freely, with no constraints regarding the timing, as a symphonic suite in nine little movements�. It is Sarde�s music that shaped the movie that was finally made and not the other way around.
