And here’s a selection of some of my favorite Genesis tracks recorded with the same Genesis. One set of tracks is purely stock headphone amp, while the other set is from my line level amp. The equipment used was exactly the same for each set of recordings, and at the exact same volume levels:
Board design is still in prototype phase, but will be ready some time next month. I have to design a secondary smaller board with a sliding SMD toggle switch that will allow users to simply flick the switch between line level amp and original CXA headphone amp (as both amps cannot run from the same inputs at the same time).
you don’t stop ! nice project !
Well, it’s an interesting project…
But I still prefer the rips by DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL (https://www.youtube.com/user/DUSTINODELLOFFICIAL/videos) though.
Some of your tracks are so clear they almost sound like the .vgm files.
I prefer the old low-pass sound of the Megadrive 1. 🙂

Those rips are YM3438 + Mega amp. As I said, that’s not how the game originally sounded. It changes them considerably. My amp just makes the originals more clear. Very few people I’ve had listen to the difference prefer the ‘murky’ sound of the LPF on the CXA, while most thought my mod sounded much better.
i love psx era of game music, but man, you are crazy! good luck!
What does PSX have anything to do with Genesis/MD music? Also why am I ‘crazy’ or need luck?
