The PSX’s one is reaaaally good.
you did some work. I salute you Trype.
Thank you so very much!
At the very least, only "one" track will be missing as far as I know (a variant with 1 more minute on the normal edition of the PSX soundtrack).
So whenever I update, it will be nearly complete =]
Getting it for collection. And it does annoys me that the music is so little. :/
The game didn’t have much to offer, apart from Voices & SFX.
Yeah, I’m glad to have found it too, as it really is an underappreciated soundtrack from Nobuyoshi Sano.
You’re both welcome~
Because you are.
Enjoy the soundtracks~
Did we ever meet?
Just joking xD
grabbing the psx rip. I was pretty sure I had that somewhere, but seems not.
That Game is kinda ASS to play, controls are not so… good, and super confusing. Every time damn fuchikoma gets near a wall it stucks on everything…
The PS2 game is awful!!! The soundtrack sounds awesome on CD, but in game is just awful and nerving. Played the game last year, buggy as F****! The platforming is beyond nerving. And the many times you die, thanks to the camera… Not a fun game… at all!!!
Also Also xD :
Tehno style Tribute 2, has the most annoying track ever: "TRAKTION ACTION" Good God Lord of the Netsphere! 11 minutes listening the same exact un-evolved beat, makes me want to bash my own head with an elephant!
Also Also ALSO XDXD:
Never played the PSP game, bu "Kariudo no Ryouiki" has a freaking great and addictive soundtrack!
*Orie uses CONFUSION*
*It’s SUPER EFFECTIVE!!*
*Trypetide is confused!*
– Obviously, that’s the gimmick of the game (and the purpose of a Fuchikoma: being able to go everywhere)
Controls are fines, you just have to get accustomed to them. Sliding and jumping, getting enemies locked and boom, next!
But that’s okay… *pat pat* At least 60% of this game’s goodness comes from the soundtrack =P
(and 20% more from the Opening cutscene alone)
– The PS2 one… Mhhh. It’s rough, I agree on that. It can still be manageable (finishing the game wasn’t that hard for me) but it wasn’t a smooth ride, that’s for sure.
I don’t recall it being "buggy as F" though. Did you played it on emulation or on native platform? Maybe I just Motoko-ed the bugs during my playthough ( >_>)
As for the soundtrack… Welll… From memory it was more of a "the deeper you advance, the deeper the tracks growth" kind of progressive soundtrack but won’t 100% that, it’s been 15 years after all XD
Nobuyoshi Sano is good, nonetheless.
– "Traktion Action" … Ah ah… Yeah. Well, that one is stretching it too far for not enough variations, or not good ones for listening to minimalist kinds from time to time.
Feels like something you’d hear during a rave party, temporising the transition between one track and another, having the DJ searching for the next good vinyl from his collection… Kinda.
– PSP: you said it well: "NEVER play the PSP game". Nevar. It’s boring AF, and they’re better FPS on this platform, even when we’re talking "PSP" XD
Anyway, of you’ll like everything else ~
*snaps of its confusion*
*Trypetide uses Slam-Kaboom-Big-Bada-BOOOOM*
*Orie feels "What the fuck was that?"*
2 can play that game honey 😉 XD
-I know that was the gimmick of the game, but after some time, you feel like you tripped on weed without smoking it. xD
Seriously now, after some time playing, I need to stop because the camera is very fast paced on that particular subject, and makes my head round. So I do need to stop at some point. The soundtrack I love it…ish. But overall, …. yeah I love it. Period.
Back in 2003, I had a school project at my choice, and I used Ghost in the Shell animation to talk about specifics on image evolution, but I ended up talking EVERYTHING in it. I still have the PowerPoint presentation on cd… and the English essay, which was about anything I wanted, so I just translated to English and use it. I did not felt like working much on something else. Don’t call me lazy. :p
Anyway, I also talked about the soundtrack, and that was when I got into this game’s music style, which was odd at first time, because I never listen this style before, and believe me, I am an electro enthusiast (check: Leftfield, Juno Reactor, Sash, Alice Deejay, Pharao, ATB, Enonime… to name a few).
My absolute favorite track is BCJ’s "SPECTRE" <3
-PS2 was really utter annoying. I played it in PS2. Buggy as hell, more times i died because of it.
– "Traktion Action" is something I would hear if I was stoned hard…. I have never reached that level. xD
– PSP. well now. I stuck with the music then. <3 <3
PSX: well yeah, anything fast paced with a tiny fov like that, even more on lil’ old playstation and its low rez, would burn your eyes after a while.
Even more when you’re not accustomed to this kind of movements/speed, or just simply can’t physiologically speaking.
The frame rate was unlocked but was going more in-between 20 to 40FPS… I’ve played it at 60FPS via emulation and that really make a difference. Welp.
*also, calling you "lazy"… just because*
"SPECTRE" is nice, indeed. The other track from BCJ, "THANATO" has also a great build up. It was pretty nice to listen to during the multiple phase of the in-game stage.
Myself, I really fancy "GHOST IN THE SHELL" because Takkyu Ishino, "BLINDING WAVES" because I hear that track so much between re-doing the game’s demo infinitely and because it’s the first stage’s track too…
And before getting my hand on the Vinyl, I was really missing to have a proper version of "THE SEARCHER PART I". "PART II" is nice alone, but listening to them in a row makes it whole and makes my ears happy.
At the end of it, I pretty much love this soundtrack as a whole for many reasons (game relation, nostalgia, goodness, style’s variations…) so it would be hard for me to pinpoint "one track" =P
And I still enjoy listening to the OSV too, as it makes it more like it was in game. Give it a ride, I’m sure you’ll like it too~
Is it already FLAC or still MP3? Because the link kept going to MP3 one.
Because it’s only the MP3 version, "as of now".
I’ve got the FLAC version waiting to get cut & tagged by hand for a while, but L I F E happened.
I’m in the process of organising, naming, transferring, deleting (and whatever else) thousands of folders and archives on my multiple HDDs for now.
Because it’s hell down there, and I just got a nice BFG 9000 to clean the mess (that will also make me get some space as a bonus).
Gotta check whatever I missed too since Q2 2018 too…
Soooooo, if nothing goes wrong these next few days: soon enough~
Welp…
As there are defects on the unique tracks from the vinyl rip I have, I won’t share it in lossless (it’s not worth it). =/
If one day I finally get a proper version though, I’ll change the OP with it.
@Misericorde
You’re welcome, enjoy the ride~
