WHAT IS THIS?

34 tracks comprising the soundtrack of the CPS-1 original arcade version of Capcom’s one-on-one fighting classic Street Fighter II. This game really needs no introduction. Suffice to say Shimomura-san and Abe-san composed so many memorable (legendary?) themes that it’s impossible to pick favourites and best tracks. This is an iconic game soundtrack.

My goal is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version / OST music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early/mid-90s obscurities and classics. CPS-1 uses "SNES-style" sample-based sound hardware and most VGM players set to filter this audio will sound incredibly muffled. The official soundtracks do not sound like this and of course neither does my remaster. Which, yes, does sound even better than the official releases. I’ve used VGM from the "Champion Edition" of the game rather than "World Warrior" as the former contains a couple extra pieces of music. Tracklist follows the definitive soundtrack with minor variations e.g. critical themes are segued into after each normal theme.

This does NOT use any of the audio from the "Street Fighter II The Definitive Soundtrack", or ANY other commercially released edition of this soundtrack. I do not intend to remaster any other Street Fighter soundtracks at this time, please go and support Capcom by purchasing their official releases!

A shame you’re not doing any more Street Fighter stuff.. the SNES and Megadrive versions could benefit from this treatment.

And Street Fighter Alpha 3. If you tackled that, my head would implode. That soundtrack is BEGGING for a remaster.
