Thanks. Does it relate to Bear McCreary’s 10 Cloverfield Lane at all?

Gia’s agitated string motif from "Roar" is quite prominent throughout. And it’s a terribly dumb mash-up of a film, by the way.

Cool. I actually liked that piece, which is unusual for me to like Giacchino.

Do I need to put together a Giacchino Mix tape to convert you?

I don’t know about that but apparently it ties some stuff together with Cloverfield, the first one. Or did you solely mean thematically?

Why not both?

Spiritually and stylistically, yes. I’ve listened through it a few times and I haven’t picked up on any direct nods to or quotes of 10 Cloverfield Lane. I’ve heard it borrows from Giacchino’s Roar! suite from the original Cloverfield’s end credits, but I haven’t listened to that enough times to get a good enough grasp.

Still don’t know what to think of the movie, but to say I wasn’t intrigued throughout would be wrong. Very refreshing after the super bowl. And it gave us more Bear McCreary!

Thanks! As a big fan of the Cloverfield movies, I thought this would have been better as a stand alone, i.e. not in the universe, as originally planned. The Cloverfield stuff seemed forced in and even took away from the story. The visuals were great, though.
