I agree. my favorite company of all time from Japan, Taito should’ve never- ever been bought out by Square-Enix. Because of this, Taito is dead in the hearts of classic fans everywhere. I just hate Japanese game companies nowadays because they want to absorb all of the small companies and leave them only the famous companies. It is sickening. I feel that Taito should’ve had the Nickelodeon and Nicktoons licenses to publish and develop games back in the day.

Well, absorbing, fusing, changing identities and whatnots was always something happening in the past.
It’s just that there aren’t as many potentially nice and good sized companies as there was in the past decades or so in Japan.
And even so, the "famous" companies you’re talking about don’t really produce as many original or good games as in the past either.
Like always, money is everything =’]
