More to come in the following hours or days, Including editions of his 1964-1966 BBC Radio series ‘Benny Hill Time’ (4 from an official BBC dual cassette release in 1996, and about 7 or 8 from a repeat broadcast last year on BBC Radio 4).
I love these songs but, please, tell me the score exists too !
Not only speaking of "Yakety Sax" of course 😉 … but this ton of other music that never been out, as far as i know…

I’ve figured out at least 75% of the musical score (at least as far as stock music is concerned, and around 50% of it’s discussed here (http://runstop.de/music07.html)) but I’d have to speed the material up for it to match how it was used on the actual show (songs were played as if a 33/3rpm LP was played at 78rpm). One of the major ones I haven’t been able to find is one simply titled ‘Classical and Pop’ which was used in Between 1975 and 1986 during and at the beginning of a couple of sketches, it’s unknown what music library it belongs to or the artist.
But yes, I have been thinking of maybe putting together a collection of the score, but I’m trying to get it as complete as possible, and one thing that’s impossible is to get clean and complete versions of the near 45 or so different version of Yakety Sax used throughout the years on the show (The Ronnie Aldrich Orchestra re-did it every time a new batch of TV specials were made, except for a long period between March 1983 and April 1986 where just one recording was used, which is availible, in truncated form on one of those Television’s Greatest Hits albums).
And some tracks would simply have to almost be reconstructed from the actual shows (which would still leave sound effects and the studio audience audible in places I wasn’t able to patch out).
Nice photo of Little Jackie Wright as Lynsey De Paul btw!

Thanks 😉 and may you succeed in this great quest !
Cheers!
I’ve been able to find a heap load of the material in FLAC thanks to this site, so I’m even further along now. And there’ll probably be new versions of the collection as new material comes to light.
My goal is to try to present as much material from the Show as possible, as clean as possible (without the studio audience reactions), All material will also be at the speed it was played at on the show (and in some cases, it was played at different speeds in various era’s, so multiple versions will be made).
And although some may not like it, I’m also trying to include many of the musical acts performances from the show in the collection (remastered of course, stuff like 50hz hum, crackles and clicks removed), because it varies from MOR material, to Spanish instrumentals, to Disco, Country and Ballads.
18 Tracks are complete as of today (and that’s not even a quarter of the collection done!, although two of those tracks are the ‘Salute to Thames’ Jingle, with it’s two different variations).
And although the collection will mainly focus on the ITV years at Thames Television, I do have the odd track or two that were used in sketches in his early BBC1 years, so the collection might start off with those). I’m getting pretty comprehensive with the tracks, even including things like the ITN News jingle (as that was used in two different News Parody sketches).
Eventually I’ll have a go at making artwork and a digital booklet for the whole thing (although I’ve already played around with a proto-type, my composition skills aren’t the best.
I think I want the cover to look something like this CD Cover (which incidentally has a Benny Hill track on it, as Hatch was his record producer at Pye Records), unless anyone has a better idea:
can’t wait can’t wait can’t wait !!! 😀
I see you’re a true fan and hard worker.
Many thanks in advance !
