Does anyone know if or when the score to Black Panther will be released?

With a projected opening of $150 million, I would say "soon."

I hope it’s good. Don’t think I’ve ever heard Ludwig Goransson’s work before. Interesting choice to have him do an MCU film though. The execs must’ve seen something. I doubt he did it 100% alone though.

He did a very good job on Creed (which was also directed by Ryan Coogler, so that’s why Gorannsson got this film). He managed to write a new training montage melody that was so good that no one noticed "Gonna Fly Now" wasn’t being used! If we’re lucky he will have been allowed to write a similarly expressive power anthem for this.

It’s MCU, how much you wanna bet he won’t include Jackman’s theme? :awsm:

I hope he doesn’t; Goransson can do much much better than him both in terms of both melody and instrumentation.

Try not to let your hatred of all things dampen the fact that it’s a cool theme in my opinion

For a secondary motif as it is in CW, it’s fine enough, but that sort of music can’t/shouldn’t be expected to carry a whole film. So much better could be done.
