Does anybody have any recordings of the Emperors theme that plays in Snokes throne room?
or the track that plays while Rey trains with the lightsaber?

mp3 or flac? these were two of my favorite tracks from the film, and i was super disappointed to see them omitted from both the official release and the FYC release. if anybody has these i would be super mega grateful.

You might be waiting a "super" long time for those tracks. It took two years for an expanded TFA score to see the light of day.

What expanded TFA score? Isn’t there just the FYC and the OST?

Nope. Expanded.

The "expanded" was made through additional material from the FYC and (I think) some stuff from a Lego videogame. No extra cues through bootleg leaks or anything like that.

TFA never had an official expansion. The fan made one posted on these forums was a combination of the OST and the FYC. Any additional material was from a Blu-Ray rip.

do you have a link to the expanded? is it Faleels? or is there a newer one?

Isn’t the emperor’s theme just tracked?

You mean Faleel’s combination of OST, FYC and Blu-ray rip, right?

No.

So it’s a new rendition by Williams, then?

I’d say it’s pretty obvious. Why using tracked music instead of rearranging for those few seconds?

Also, to me it didn’t sound tracked from ROTJ.

Music is tracked all the time in franchises. Hell, Burning Homestead from ANH was tracked into the film version of The Ways of The Force from TFA.

Yeah, that’s quite evident. There’s also the Main Titles in the prequels, apparently they’re all using the TPM one.

Is this true? I thought it was a re-recording.

It could well be a re-recording, actually. Burning Homestead isn’t in the Song Credits section of the End credits. There are only the two songs in Maz’s Caste.

You’re joking

Those are source cues, songs meant to be played in an environment like that. Music has been tracked in The Hunger Games, Transformers, Indiana Jones, TDK Trilogy and get this – even some MCU films!!!!

Pretty sure BvS contains tracked MoS material as well.

When they use tracked music, are those tracks credited there? I just saw that the third Maze Runner credits the Main Titles from the first film, that’s clearly tracked music: https://www.soundtrack.net/movie/maze-runner-the-death-cure/

What if instead of tracking music, those composers are simply re-arranging them? It’d be a lot easier, in case of the Emperor theme section in The Last Jedi.

But you’re talking about cases where the recordings in question that are two or three years old as opposed to forty. We’re not disbelieving the idea that recordings are recycled throughout franchises, we’re disbelieving the idea that they’d used one that’s decades old.
In any case you seem to be right, although the tempo of the cue was altered. My method of grabbing the YouTube audio was a little unscientific (I assume it’s NTSC) but the sound of it seems to also be the same between film and 1977 version.

There may be different stipulations for delineating cues like that in the end credits. Heck for all we know the music change could have been so late that the credits may have already been prepared and locked.

I don’t know the science of it, just that it’s tracked and yes the tempo was slightly changed. I grabbed a pretty good edit of the film version of The Ways of The Force off YouTube.
