This collection contains the 19 tracks that comprise the soundtrack for the Sega Genesis / MegaDrive game Sonic The Hedgehog by SEGA. Do I really need to introduce this any further?

One of my goals is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early-mid 90s games. I have added some sympathetic mastering, made appropriate edits and rearranged the tracklist so that it makes for a better listen as an album.

This collection of audio does NOT in any way duplicate audio from my previous remaster or any other released version of the Sonic soundtrack.

The files are in 24-bit 44.1 kHz lossless FLAC audio format and 320kbit/s MP3.

One of my goals is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early-mid 90s games. I have added some sympathetic mastering, made appropriate edits and rearranged the tracklist so that it makes for a better listen as an album.

It is well known that the artists behind the music in this game comprise various Japanese composers, as well as Brad Buxer and – in particular, and only purportedly as it was never officially confirmed – one other major American pop artist that shall remain nameless here. Zealous record labels, search engines and all that. I have denoted the artists in a relatively sane way but it’s a mess, really, as there are so many of them. Some tracks – based on the VGMs – have 4-5 people listed as the composers and to have them in the filenames would cause potential issues. Hence "Sonic 3 Music Team".

One of my goals is to present to the community well-mastered Original Sound Version music of the greatest soundtracks video gaming has to offer, with an emphasis on early-mid 90s games. I have added some sympathetic mastering, made appropriate edits and rearranged the tracklist so that it makes for a better listen as an album.

To keep things simple, where the single composer is not known I have continued to use "Sonic 3 Music Team" as the artist. I have kept this soundtrack separate from Sonic 3 because it works better as an individual soundtrack (unique title / bonus stage / boss themes etc).
