After many, many months of tedious trial and error, I finally present my DVD rip of "The Rescuers", but with a new twist; I’ve also launched a new branding of sorts for all of my future DVD rips, titled "The Dream Collection" (a play on Disney’s own "Legacy Collection")! From here on out, they will all feature a spiffy new digital restoration/enhancement, more professional editing and presentation, and other goodies. I plan to re-do some of my old rips as part of this new project, including but not limited to "The Sword and the Stone" and "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad", so keep an eye out for those in the future.

Enter "The Dream Collection", my humble answer to all of those fans who have been pleading to hear these scores for years, just like myself. Yes, I know it sounds a little too good to be true, and to some extent, it is; after all, these are ultimately just lightly enhanced DVD rips, with quality that’s still a fair bit below that of an official CD release, and is plagued with faint voices or SFX every once in a while; but regardless, it’s something, and considering how uninterested Walt Disney Records and Intrada seem to be in releasing any of these older animated scores, something is far better than nothing.

I just realised Disney’s covers also say "THE legacy collection" and not "legacy collection" but oh well… 😉
I don’t like the sound of "Walt Disney’s The Dream Collection" or "Walt Disney’s The Legacy Collection", so I left it out.

Ah! Thanks a million! This is leagues better than the old one. And I would also prefer to leave out the "Walt Disney’s" subtitle, because this isn’t an official Disney product. Using that title could provoke some legal issues (of which there are already many). I don’t want to wake up one morning to a ‘cease and desist’ from Walt Disney Records.

If it’s not any trouble, could you possibly provide more of these soundtrack covers for the rest of The Dream Collection? My next project is The Fox and the Hound (which, on an unrelated note, will be much cleaner than this Dream Collection was).

How do you mean? Are you getting an error upon extracting the file?

when you download it. right click to unzip. When you put the password in. Don’t hit Enter on keyboard. Click the "OK" button on it! For some reason it wouldn’t work unless I did that!
Then you will have to unzip it a couple of times. Don’t know why?

When I was very young in the mid-80s, my mother had several bootleg VHS tapes of Disney films that wouldn’t be officially released until the 90s and The Rescuers was one of them, so consequently, it was among the first Disney films I ever saw as a kid and I still have a lot of affection for it. My DVD was signed by Bob Newheart when I met him after one of his stand up shows and I will never sell it on ebay no matter how badly I need the money.
