From memory this wasn’t a bootleg, but an official release from Reprise Records (9362-45816-2).

I know for a fact that I bought it from a retail store, however that is not to say they weren’t just dodgily selling a promotional copy.

I’m pretty sure they sold you a promotional copy. I have this (somewhere) and mine has "promotional use only" stamped on it. I don’t think it ever got any kind of official release, but I could be wrong.
