Note: without further adieu I FINALLY present to you the score to the best worst movie possibly of all time, Troll 2 composed by Carlo Maria Cordio. As a huge fan of the film since childhood, I always wanted a soundtrack for Troll 2 but never took into consideration how it would translate over to album since the score in the film is chopped and re-arranged in multiple places and all in all doesn’t amount to an awful lot. Lunaris Records found a way to make it work as a listening experience, even if at times they repeat a couple to a few tracks it’s quite an enjoyable album, if you’re a fan. Some of my favorite cues unfortunately are still missing but the majority of it is here. There’s a handful of extra tracks on the CD version but they’re all junk hence why I left them out.
I ripped this from my translucent green variant record and a majority of the reason it took so long is because my recordings kept coming out in mono and it became a frustrating experience until I realized that I was recording through the microphone line-in instead of the direct line-in which offers that full stereo support. Second thing is that each rip came out noisy and while this one is still noisy, it’s the best compromise I was able to make. I didn’t apply any pop/click elimination filters as I was nervous about destroying the sound so this is presented AS-IS. I ripped to WAV and mastered in FLAC, both sourced at 96/24.
There’s not much more to say about this other than I hope the fans out there can enjoy this and hopefully it introduces a new legion of fans. Would you EVER guess that this score used a decent-sized LIVE ORCHESTRA? I wouldn’t. It did though. Enjoy!
One last thing: I have ordered my copy of Waxwork Records’ Creepshow 2 LP set so I will be ripping and uploading a new version soon. Keep an eye out!
