I’ve taken a liking to the muzak genre. That kind of bouncy, feel-good instrumental stuff that was popular in department stores and supermarkets in the 80s and 90s.

I wasn’t aware Muzak was actually a company. I thought it was a genre. Anyway, might anyone have their albums anywhere?

I can find one album on youtube and there is a guy who posted audio that kmart used. But, I’d like more, if it’s around.

There’s a label called Muzak : discogs info https://www.discogs.com/fr/label/176671-MUZAK-3

I’ve got a few of them, but it’s much older than the stuff you’re talking (70’s)

I’d love whatever you’re willing to share. I wasn’t aware it began earlier than the 80s.

Here’s one, for example :

Muzak demonstration LP from 1972 features liner note explanations of the science of Muzak in English, Spanish, German, & French. The record has Muzak versions of Theme From the Godfather, Diamonds Are Forever, American Pie, Sugar Daddy, It’s One of Those Nights, The One YOu Say Good Morning To, and six original Muzak compositions used to demonstrate the principle of stimulus progression.

There’s a fabulous thread here with tons of records of this sort, but i can’t remember the title of the thread.
As soon as i remember, i will tell you

You don’t happen to mean music like this? Because this kind of Easy Listening is so-called "Library Music", and this is a central compilation from the 1990s UK, when new people rediscovered these sounds.
