Hello again,

Does anyone know if someone has ripped music from the TV series of Downton Abbey?

There’s only been two soundtracks released and it’s not the score I seek.

It’ll be good to know if anyone has attempted to rip the score from certain scenes and deleted the SFX.

I know it’s a long shot, but since 2012, NO new music has been released for this perfect TV Series.

Thanks again!

Well… apparently the audio was recorded with only two channels instead of the six that are needed to rip music from the show, so I don’t think there’s any way whatsoever or ripping music from the show. I was so disappointed to learn this because there were some incredible score moments that were never released.

I agree with you. There are incredible score moments that were never released.

Even on the latest Movie Score. Which is very annoying!

I wouldn’t say it’s impossible as such even though there’s only two channels of music or one stereo channel. People have said it’s like taking the eggs from an already baked cake or something which is understandable when you are working with only stereo or mono music but there is software out there I have experimented with such as Izotope RX 7 to name one which can remove the centre channel which most of the time I believe is voices although that’s not always the case and won’t always work. I have tested this out with CBBC’s Horrible Histories which only had stereo channels of music and it removed most of the voices. Sound effects can be more of an issue though like if there’s an outside scene and there’s birds in the background, it can be much harder to remove. Izotope RX 7 comes with plenty of plugins such as dialogue isolation or voice remover to name a few.

Have you tried Downton Abbey with Izotope RX7? I used to try to remove vocals from episodes with only two channels but they’d always sound nearly unlistenable, but I never stumbled across the program you mentioned.

There’s a chance that the movie was recorded with 5.1 audio, since it wasn’t the TV show. The DVD will be out in December, I believe, so we’ll have to wait until then!

Like I said, it depends on how the audio is mixed and mastered. Some methods will work better then others when it comes to removing centre panned voices. No I haven”t personally tried it on Downtown Abbey but it’s worth a shot as Izotope RX7 is good at removing voices from music and isolating dialogue on scenes with music.

Good news–according to Amazon’s listing page, the movie has a 5.1 audio mix, so music can be ripped from it. It apparently comes out in December!
