Note: this release was created by utilizing all currently available material from Baos’ score to the 2013 film Evil Dead. A few days ago, I started noticing how all four releases of this score (two officially released versions, a 46-minute promo, and an expanded 78-minute promo) had some new stuff the others didn’t, something I hadn’t noticed even after four f***ing years of listening to this score. So I took this past weekend to study and analyze what was exactly different between the promos and the albums. What I got was almost 20 additional minutes in comparison to the most complete release of the four: the 78-minute promo album.
For starters, the 46-minute promo had some extended film versions of tracks like "Sad Memories", "Demon Possession" and "Abominations Rising", all of which appear in my edit. I took the deluxe extended edition La La Land’s put out (which is basically a re-edited version of the 78-minute promo) and seamlessly integrated those small additions from the promos that weren’t present on the album into the original FLAC tracks in order to preserve sound quality the best I could (both promos were lossy-sourced 256kbps MP3s).
Tracks that include lossy sourced material are 2, 3, 4 (only for fade out at the end), 5, 6 (very small addition, just a second or two in the middle section), 7, 8 (whole track), 12, 13, 14 (only for fade out), 15 (first few seconds), 18 (whole track), 21 (whole track) and 22 (only for fade in). Most additions were small bits that were left out of LLLR’s deluxe edition, but tracks like "You Are All Going to Die Tonight" were oddly left out of both official releases, and so are fully lossy sourced.
"Abominations Rising" is probably the most easily noticed difference between the releases. The film version of the cue is only featured in the 46-minute promo – all other releases feature the same version which is not only shorter than the film version, but also features an alternate mix. Both are included in my edit, the film version as part of the main bulk and the alternative album version as a bonus track. The promo version of "I’ll Rip Your Soul Out" also features a different mix from the film version.
"Natalie Hunting" was probably the trickiest track to edit here due to its loud sound (it was difficult to avoid clipping on that one, but I ended up making it work). Overall, I am pretty happy with the results and proudly present you the most complete version of this score so far. Unless someone decides to leak the full recording sessions, this is the best we’re gonna get. This became one of my favorite scores in recent years and one that could ultimately scare the crap out of me, so I hope you like this release as much as I did. Also, I’d really like to get some feedback from you who’ll download and listen to this, if that’s possible (let me know especially if there are any errors). Thanks for this in advance.
Meanwhile, enjoy and stay scared!

You could only figure out up to reel 3 though, eh?
You could only figure out up to reel 3 though, eh?
The post got chopped in half for some reason. Fixed it.
I like that track a lot too! Not my favorite, though. For that, I guess I’d have to go with "Demon Possession", "Bloody Kiss" or "Abominations Rising".
