It depends. In case publishing rights for the music have been acquired by Var�se, they "own" rights to the music they choose to not release, too… Not to mention that the game-rip would surely have stuff that appears on the official release.

In short, be on the safe side and don’t post anything.

^That’s what I do based on actions taken by other Staff members in the past (it would most likely apply in the case of a complete game-rip, in addition to an official release from a forbidden label/artist), but this release seems okay [comparing tracklist] – http://vgmdb.net/album/65753 (Published by Laced Records, distributed by Universal Music Distribution)+stuff which came up at the album discussion thread over there.

Var�se just manufactured a version of the retail album, I think, they’re not owning publishing rights to the music.

Still, I wonder what got Varese interested in it – perhaps originally they signed in for what they thought would be a soundtrack of the game with live orchestra, and when they realized it was gonna be synth.. maybe they had signed on something and couldn’t let go, but still had to distribute. Who knows, maybe Varese releases the orchestra version in the future (hopefully not, or it’d never be here…) I mean, it’s not the first time something like this happens. Abzu got a normal digital release, and Varese handled the rights for a CD release.
