I’m sure there’s been plenty of discussion about this. However, this is something that I’ve got stuck on my mind, and would like to hear others’ input.

Howard Shore did more great stuff with the Hobbit trilogy. And while a good amount of it has been released, there’s also some great pieces that haven’t. Not to mention the terrible editing quality on the OSTs. Seriously, you can hear the fast fade-outs on so many cues, unnecessarily…

Anyway, what do you guys think?

It’s obvious that The Hobbit films, probably for a number of reasons, never gained the sort of praise LotR did. Nor did the music. WB has also gotten very, very cheap in the past few years and were not even willing to permit Peter Jackson to film a new documentary for the retarded "Middle Earth" box set. Plus, in order to produce Complete Recordings, you need the sign-offs of many different companies. Meanwhile I understand that there are still issues/delays with re-issuing the LotR complete recordings.

Basically my point is that no one should get his hopes up.
