Alex Mauer (chiptune composer) music is gone

If you are like me and was suscribed to Alex Mauer* releases one way or another (for instance from his Bandcamp), you probably wonder what happened (his site closed, same for his Bandcamp, Soundcloud and probably other accounts, all very recently I think).
His mail was relatively easy to find so I could ask the question directly – tbh I couldn’t really expect a reassuring answer, but it was worse than what I could imagine.

"Please write wherever you can that I have quit my career because Imagos Softworks is stealing my copyright. They also put me in a situation where I’m on food stamps and declaring bankruptcy. I never want to work in music again if this is a possible outcome of this much hard work. Also, anyone who supported the Starr Mazer Kickstarter should ask for their money back"
