This score is very orchestral, hell a lot of brass, strings and WAR drums. Amazing work as usual Ramin, no wonder!

Xin Ren is a beautiful piece.

I have to say, upon first listen it’s a disappointment. Not so much from a skill standpoint, just a matter of taste. I really don’t like the Chinese choir in the first track and then sprinkled throughout the rest of the score. He’s had a big year, though, so one misstep among many isn’t too big of a deal.

– Upon hearing Horner was working on this, I’d say Ramin possibly used some of his themes. I can hear influence in there…somewhere. 🙂

Nope, this is 100% Ramin, the choir work has his signature all over it.

Horner never wrote anything for this film or for "Hacksaw Ridge". He never had the chance to. He just tried to get a head start on "Magnificent Seven" first, and died soon after.
