Thanks but as for the tracks for the composer credit…do you know if Nobuo Uematsu re-arranged his own tracks or someone was behind that ?

Thank you.

I am speechless. This soundtrack is absolutely beautiful and its what a headline FF title deserves. Shimomura did great!

Uematsu was not involved so someone else arranged the Chocobo and FF themes. Unfortunately, they’re kinda bad at crediting this time around. I’m looking at the booklet right now and it doesn’t even give track by track credits like Square Enix OSTs generally do.

Why is it different from the official cover?

Because it’s very likely that it is a custom cover. Also, I can’t tell which is the source of this, it is 16-bit, 48 kHz. My guess is that this is an oversampled cd rip customized to have the tracklist of the BD version (just a guess).

Bart Oss, Could you please tell us the source? (4CD / Blu-ray / Limited Edition)

Also, I can’t tell which is the source of this, it is 16-bit, 48 kHz. My guess is that this is an oversampled cd rip customized to have the tracklist of the BD version (just a guess).

Going by the track list (it’s 1 through 96, instead of four shorter track lists on the 4-CD version) I think it’s one of the Blu-ray releases. The Blu-ray versions, as far as I know, are 96KHz 24-bit. I can’t think of a reason why an encoder software would upsample the 44KHz CD source to 48KHz, but downsampling 96KHz to 48KHz and 24-bit to 16-bit makes sense if you want approximately CD quality but don’t want the size of the Blu-ray quality version.
