This is a rare case where the rejected score is better known than the score used in the film. In this case, film music favorite Cliff Eidelman originally wrote a lovely score (which was released by Varese) for this film, but for some reason it went unused in the film, which instead received a score by the less-well-known composer Mark Adler, which was released on the Virgin label. It is similar lovely to Eidelman’s effort and I have no idea why it was preferred, but the bright side of the situation is that we got two lovely albums for this film.

Unfortunately I only have a copy of this score in 160kbps, but it honestly sounds pretty decent and I though I should still share it since it’s never been shared on the forum, at least according to the Google search I did. I had trouble finding any good artwork for the score, so had to settle for Amazon.com’s 300×300. If anyone has higher res artwork please share! If anyone is interested in buying a physical copy to get the score in lossless, it is only 24 cents plus shipping from Amazon.com, used — on the other hand a new copy will run you $50:

If anyone would like to preview the music, someone uploaded a suite from it to Youtube in so-so sound quality, perhaps taken from the film because I think I detect a few effects. But it is enough to get a sense of how lovely the music is:

And here is the link for the download, from Sendspace:

Enjoy, feel free to leave rep with your nickname if you like, but most of all I’d love to hear feedback about your opinion of the music itself!

Thank you for this interesting share, Ivanova2. I wasn’t aware that Picture Bride had two scores.
