Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare (Complete Score) – Barton, Gregson-Williams, ’07, FLAC

Update: v1.1 – fixed names and fixed order

With Remastered Warfare having come out a few days ago, I decided to remake this score with the lossless files included ingame. It sounds magnificent. It’s only 98% lossless, but hey.

It’s almost the same as the old one, except for track order, names and fixed loudness for tracks. Speaking of loudness, this files that came with the game have HORRIBLE sum compression at times, and there’s nothing to be done about that. I took some tracks off the 6 track sampler for that reason where those tracks were lossless – some aren’t for some reason, you can even hear the crossfades between lossy/lossless in the same cue.

The only tracks that aren’t fully lossless are "05 – Modern Warfare" and "08 – Black Out". Those tracks were shortened in the Remastered version, so I took the outros/intros from the 360 xma’s, kindly provided by CLONEMASTER 6.53 (http://forums.ffshrine.org/member.php?u=595559). The rest is completely lossless.

It’s still a significant upgrade compared to my other version, which was sourced from the 128kbps PC mp3s.

I don’t play the newer ones anymore (something I’d need to do to create a version like that), so somebody else will have to do that. If I’d do anything it’d be BO1 – or remasters for MW2/MW3 using the 360 xmas.

Without you sending me the xmas I would have probably never even thought of using the files of the remastered versions for a … remaster.

And yes, the all of the Chernobyl ambient pieces are my favourite ones from the game.

Uhh there shouldn’t be any typos in any of the track names … all of them were named that way on purpose. The mission is called "Black Out" ingame, with the space.

I might actually have to do an update though since I just noticed that the Main Theme Alt actually playes at the end of Black Out, when you get into the chopper, upon actually playing the remastered version …

Wow, I must have been really tired when I checked the game or something. How in the world could I miss that. (Ninja edit: I think I looked up the word blackout, usually it’s spelled in two words, that’s why I got it wrong).

And seems I’ve been typing that name wrong all the time I’ve know the game then lol. Guess I’ll have to post an update the next few days …

Edit2: Actually, I just finished it up now. Also noticed that the Blackout second part was way too loud, and I reused the Countdown_02 parts for it, since they’re less peak compressed. Will edit in new links momentarily.

Also, just curious, what’s the difference between vbr and 320kbps?

Some prefer this, some prefer that. There really isn’t any discernable quality difference. I had the time, bandwidth and space so I just decided to do both 😛

Oh, nice! I was looking for that cover art again – Rad�Max aka Bugz was the creator of the set, which I downloaded back when he put it up, but I suppose I’ve lost it now. Most of the image links on his site are dead as well. So it’s great that you had this!
