So I’ve been a member on the threads for a little while now, and wanted to think of a way I could contribute. I was curious if providing .wav recordings of vinyl would be an acceptable contribution despite the possible quality issues with dust and other typical issues that come with vinyl. For me personally, I recorded my copy of the Animals "House of the Rising Sun" because I wasn’t fond of the very clean versions I was hearing elsewhere. There was a different quality to the sound that made it feel "better" in my opinion, more alive. So I just wanted to put that out there as food for thought.

Please do. Your turntable is probably better than mine. I stopped ripping my vinyl OSTs months ago.

Now and then I’ll go through my parents’ collection and find an album with a song on it that I need in my library (the latest being Fleetwood Mac’s "Sara" off of Tusk), but other than that I stopped. And I’ve gotten a bunch of new vinyls (hello Waxwork Records, thanks for bleeding me dry), but my equipment just isn’t up to par.

I’m very fond of vinyl as well, and I read this article recently on one of my primary news sites for vinyl, concerning just what you described, right here: (Maybe it’s in your price range?)
