Dak doesn’t do bit-accurate rips for blurays.
Whatever method he uses, he uses the lossy core audio only.

For TrueHD, FFMPEG can open TrueHD without problems.
So Audacity and most other programs can open them since FFMPEG is free to use (if licence agreement is honored by the developers).

For DTS-HD Master Audio formats, you can easily test if it accurately reads DTS formats by importing a 7.1 stream and seeing if it opens as 7.1 or 5.1.
If it opens as 5.1, it is reading the lossy core only.

For lossless DTS format support, you need to use an updated version of eac3to to rip the audio.

Someone ripped Jurassic World, the core only, and then modified it to be louder.
Ripping the actual 7.1 audio from Jurassic World and it’s quieter than the edited 5.1 lossy mix.
Dak didn’t like the actual bluray rip and preferred the lossy edit that was amplified.

I’m going to assume that his Tron: Legacy Film Mix also used lossy 5.1 DTS core.

Just an FYI.

There are plenty of other people here who know how to accurately rip lossless audio off a bluray.

Dak’s also on a MAC so he will never get bit-accurate lossless.
Bit-accurate lossless ripping of DTS is currently only supported on Windows/linux systems, thanks to the developer (foo86) of DCAdec library.

Like, I know TRON Legacy (http://forums.ffshrine.org/showthread.php?t=203206&highlight=) came from Metrotokyo’s work (Thread 90961), which should be lossless.

First and foremost, this edit would not have been possible without Metrotokyo.

Besides, where does DAK say he does the rips himself?

Just tell T-1000 to go to one of the eac3to people.

I’ve seen so many people on this forum say they grabbed "the biggest file" they could.
Most public torrent sites only have the lossy core audio for the encodes. And 1080p don’t mean shit for audio. It just specifies the video resolution.
You really need to know what you’re looking for on torrent sites.

I’ve even heard people saying they grabbed MP4 which doens’t mean squat for audio.

I have zero faith right now.
There are people who know things rather than just hitting some buttons.
