Here are 47 tracks from 2 Japanese TV mini-series: Kenkaku Shobai ("The Swordsman’s Trade") and Kumokiri Nizaemon ("The Cloud Thief"). In the former, a retired swordsman who made his living fighting wrongdoers must now battle a killer who is posing as his son. In the latter, a former samurai creates a band of Robin Hood-like thieves who appear and depart in a cloud of mist. The booklet credits 3 composers: Keisuke Shinohara, Michiru Oshima, and Sigeru Umebayashi. Despite her being listed second, Oshima is represented by only 1 track from "Kenkaku Shobai" (#36). Tracks 1-35 are by Shinohara ("from Kenkaku Shobai") and tracks 37-47 by Umebayashi (from "Kumokiri Nizaemon". The music itself is a little bit of everything, but starts out with a nice main theme to "Kenkaku" incorporating Japanese instruments, followed by a charming waltz, some wistful ballads, and plenty of suspense cues. Oshima’s sole track (#36) ends "Kenkaku" on a dramatic note, followed by 11 tracks of Umebayashi’s rather exotic music to "Kumokiri."

47 tracks on Shochiku CD# SOST-3012. Released in 2013.
