A FLAC share of an ‘ethnic folk’ album entitled ‘Egypt’. It is tricky to classify this album as it is a fusion of traditional elements from West and North Africa.
For everyone who enjoys ethnic/middle Eastern, Arabic music, this album is lovely. It takes me back to my travels in the middle East and offers unique African/arabic flavours with each ‘folk’ song. The acoustic arrangements with traditional strings and precession are a joy, and the songs are beautifully crafted. I hope you will enjoy this album as much as me. Youssou N’Dour’s voice is hypnotic too and every track has something special for me.
If you like the ethnic flavours from Hanson Zimmer, John Powell, Michael Danna etc. Then give this a try, I think you will like it.
Please let me know if you enjoy it.

But he is not middle-eastern – Senegal is in western Africa.
Yes, I know this. I was referring to the sound of this album. I have been to West Africa, Gambia and Senegal. The traditional music from that region is very different to this album. The albums title is called Egypt and features traditional instruments and folk arrangements from North Africa and middle East. I hope you like it.

These aren’t the sort of melodies I was expecting, but it’s still not bad, nevertheless, thank you again!
Is this a score from some film?
ST
No, it’s not a score, but actually quite cinematic in places. These are a collection of folk songs.
