How to convert .APE files

Hi there shriners, I’ve downloaded an album and found that it contains .APE and .CUE files, but when I use fobar2000 to convert those to MP3, it gives me this message :

40 out of 40 tracks converted with major problems.
Source: "C:\Users\Yacine Mana\Desktop\Castlevania Harmony of Despair Original Soundtrack\01. Drone.ape"
Unable to open source file: Unsupported file format
Conversion failed: Unsupported file format

And of course I get no MP3 converted files.
So, my question is very simple :
How can I convert them to MP3 format with maximum quality ?

foobar2000 with ape to flac/mp3 whatever conversion tool

I’ve just found Monkey’s Audio Decoder component for foobar2000 and it converted well 😀

I use Xrecode II, APE is a lossless format.

I find that I get a best result to unsplit APE and then convert to FLAC, than convert directly APE splitted to FLAC.
