Billy Rose’s JUMBO, released by MGM in 1962, was the last film to feature orchestrations by Conrad Salinger, who, along with Johnny Green, is credited with creating the lush, distinctive sound of the MGM Studio Orchestra from the 1940s through the mid 1960s. Salinger was under contract to MGM as early as 1939 and before that was an arranger-orchestrator for Broadway musicals. Less than a year after completing his work on JUMBO, Salinger died, at age 60. He is still considered the greatest arranger-orchestrator ever in musicals, both in films and on stage. The Columbia soundtrack album from JUMBO contained less than 30 minutes of music and the sound suffered from the excessive reverb added to soundtrack LPs in this period. This new expanded remix of JUMBO is derived from a DSD archived multi track audio tape of the recording sessions and a Music & Effects track for some additional music. The remix is largely free of foley effects except where the M&E source was used (less than 5 minutes). The remix is about 48 minutes long. Also included as Bonus Tracks are 8 instrumental versions of songs from JUMBO performed by Cyril Ornadel and his Orchestra, derived from a DSD archived LP which was released by MGM Records at the time of the film’s release. Conrad Salinger’s brilliance can be heard throughout the JUMBO soundtrack and although the film was not a success on its initial release, it remains to this day a fitting tribute to his genius.

Billy Rose’s JUMBO (Expanded Remix of the 1962 Sound Track Recording)
All of the tracks are programmed to play without pause in between the selections. If you burn a CD be sure to configure ITunes or your burning software to record with no pause between tracks)

Nice work on this one! But I’m afraid, and I hope I don’t offend you, Stevie. But tracks like the Main Title track have an "unnatural" sound stage, at least, in my opinion. I prefer a slightly "flat" stage from left to right, like the cuts from the music-and-effects track. The problem gets more serious in "The Circus on Parade", which is the third track. But still, great expansion!

After I downloaded these files I noticed two typo/spelling errors on the tracks & artwork. I apologise for this;
here is a new link to the file with corrected cover art, which can be fitted to a slimline CD case:
