WAV format because, even if it has been ripped from a "genuine" CD, I wasn’t 100% sure this source was actually lossless. Right after I expressed my doubts about it, TheSkeletonMan939 confirmed it is true lossless !

Lol, does anyone else notice how the main theme (or what I assume would have been the main theme) sounds almost exactly like "Across the Stars" from Attack of the Clones? Crazy coincidence I guess.
Thank you !

Interesting !
And in his excellent book TORN MUSIC : REJECTED FILM SCORES, Gergely Hubai says that Ethan Hunt’s theme would later find home in the composer’s score for ERASER.
You’ve got it the other way around. M:I predates AotC by 6 years
Thanks a lot!!!
I know. That’s why I say it’s a coincidence.
I doubt Williams would have known about Silvestri’s rejected M:I score, let alone listen to it and decide to "borrow" Silvestri’s idea. It’s just one of those weird happenstances.

I haven’t grabbed this yet, is Lalo Schriffin’s original theme present like it is in Elfman’s finalized version?
Will be entertaining to listen to.
I love Elfman’s score to the film, but Silvestri would definintely be a fun listen.
Can’t wait to hear the pre-AotC theme in this.
I wouldn’t be surprised if Williams did listen to it and stole the notes when no one was looking.
I bet Lucas had his filthy grubby hands involved in all of this.
No, not that I heard. If it’s in there it’s certainly not prominent at all.

From comparing the two briefly, I suspect the tracks posted here are the only real Silvestri compositions and everything else I have was culled from other sources. I also suspect some or all of the track titles I have may be incorrect, but comparing the two bootlegs, you can use the following titles for the album posted here:

Considering Across the Stars is basically just Hook slowed down a bit I doubt its any more than a big coincidence.

I just read he was the original composer on "Pirates of the Caribbean"?
Does anyone know if there is a recording of this, if it got that far?
Thanks!
Thanks a bunch for the share and the cover, DaUpp.

Just saw your version on ebay: http://www.ebay.com/itm/MISSION-IMPOSSIBLE-Alan-Silvestri-REJECTED-SCORE-LIMITED-IMPORT-mint-/371612855881?hash=item5685da2e49:g:EpUAAOSwYHxWHdZ c
Wondering if that too might be legit…
Wondering if that too might be legit…
I… recognise that. The style of artwork, the same font used for the text, and the same lack of production details. Also, it’s Silvestri. This matches a supposed "legit" CD pressing of Silvestri’s complete Stuart Little 2 score that I got off eBay a while back. There’s a very similar one for the first Stuart Little as well. Another similarity between this and those is the presence of extra/bonus tracks from another movie by the same composer – on the Stuart Little disc it was a bonus "suite" from Silvestri’s Mouse Hunt and on the Stuart Little 2 disc it was the OST tracks from Stuart Little 3 by Atli rvarsson.
To my knowledge these are just very well-made bootlegs, not legit promos or anything.

It possibly is a second version of the set, since the 320k files I have use different artwork. There’s also a possibility that it’s a repackaging made by different people.

Yes. They go by different names, but their most prominent name is First Born Records. Their releases are either files they took from the internet, or files that they themselves acquired from secret sources. It’ hard to tell what is what, since they’ll never say on the packaging, which is well made. Certain releases are lossless, while others are clearly mp3s. It’s a mess, but it is rewarding if the files are legit. I got the short end of the stick yesterday.
I’m a huge Mission: Impossible fan and I have been looking, for decades, for Alan Silvestri’s version of Lalo Schifrin’s theme in lossless, as heard in the 1996 trailer (https://youtu.be/vadCbBuUM0E) (it’s not here unfortunately).
I’ve also been looking for Danny Elfman’s recording sessions for Mission: Impossible.
As anyone come across that?
Ask HunterTech : he also complained about it, and said he ‘ll post it here.
disappointed that this doesn’t include Silverstri’s rendition of the main theme. I’ll post it here.
Anytime.
HAHA exactly. Yeah the MEGA link is down unfortunately.
Thanks in advance!
I would really appreciate a re-up.

Also, has anyone rescored some of the scenes with these cues? That’d be very interesting to watch.
For a better visibility, I will put your link on my first post and will credit it to you !
And I’ll try to be a little more reactive for incoming re-up requests !
