Still very hard for me to believe that Peter Jackson directed that movie. :p
Holy shit, that’s Hector Salamanca
From Breaking Bad! I know! When I was watching the film, I thought he looked familiar. :p
Your brain fills in the gaps in the very milliseconds from when you transition from asleep to awake.
The action is so quick and your brain needs the time to realize it’s awake, when you start to think of it right away, your subsconsience is automatically filling in the gaps with relevant letters or numbers.
It’s the same thing they say that you can’t make up new faces. They’re all faces of people you have seen at least once.
Which makes up a whole city in dream land. Full of projections.

A lot of people in Excalibur.
I actually remember Gabriel Byrne when I was a kid. Later as I watched Little Women, I had to ask if he was in Excalibur.
 Liam Neeson, I had to cross-reference on IMDb. I completely forgot he was in the movie and what his role was.
I remember him from Krull, but not Excalibur.
It’s just that I took a hilarious screenshot.

Highly recommended watch. It’s one of those movies that helped pave the road for movies today.
Except, the story is very concrete. I don’t know a lot of the time period when it came out to say that it didn’t offer pure fan service like today’s movies.
But it definitely didn’t have Justin Beiber making a selfie with duck face.

Is that a shot from the giant insect movie you mentioned?
No, it’s a more recent film.
I’m digging up the giant insect movie from the archives still.

Still up for grabbers.
Mother Night
Ohh, that’s the one with the neat cover where he’s got puppet strings above him.
I should look for that movie.
Here’s that giant insect movie I used to watch a lot on the local movie channel when I was a kid.
My younger brother got it for me on bluray this past Christmas. We all had fun reminiscing while watching it.
I’m thinking that looks like Michael Fassbender, Spark.
George, you were listening to Muhammed, Messenger of God and Lion of the Desert for a while there, so I’m guessing one of those.
I see the resemblance, but no, not Ronnie Corbett,
I’m thinking that looks like Michael Fassbender, Spark.
1) Yes, it’s EotA. THEM is on next on my list to collect. I spent ages looking for a decent DVD rip of it and had no idea they were making a bluray of it until my brother gave it to me for christmas. I was so happy.
It’s a double feature bluray. I’ve not watched the second movie before. I’ll make a screenshot and see if anyone knows.
2) Not Fassbender.
Although this one has had his fair share of taking his clothes off for the camera. Just nearly as much up-front as Fassbender.

It’s from The Message, which I did forget had the original title of Mohammad, Messenger of God.

That is actually the very same reason I’m going to watch them, though not the only.
He’s only done one close-to-full frontal. Were it not for CG to blur it out to keep it PG-13.
It was a box office BOMB.
He did give more of a natural nude scene in a later installment of the franchise, but a very strong tease of a frontal but a maximus gratuitous of his gluteus maximus.

Scream/Shout Factory released it on bluray recently the past year.
For Empire of the Ants, Germany had a single release.

The 3D bluray has an open matte version.
Probably a portion of it is zoomed/cropped. A lot of open matte movies have a mix of actual open matte and/or zoomed scenes.
Depending how well the director filmed the scenes, you might not see the extra behind-the-scenes details like a boom microphone above the actor or the extras standing still or the colored tape all over the place to mark the actor’s places for shots.
I watched "A Night To Remember" in highschool and enjoyed that one.

And that was after watching two of his stand-ups back to back one day.
 I think it’s a little too darkly lit to be DT. That was a very vividly colored film. Like crayons were used and felt. The cloth felt.
It was uber bright and colorful. Even the sets looked like cardboard cutouts. Definitely something for Danny Elfman to compose.
Here’s something that might get some of you.
Underrated film. Needs to be imported for bluray. Only available on bluray from 2 places. DVD should be easier to obtain.

Indiana Jones & The Temple of Doom 🙂
Phew !
You always get small lists from posh users who wear crocks to the dinner table and talk about indie films they’ve never seen.
It would have to be a remake.
The only movies that got a remake, explicitly about wine are:
1) Sideways (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0375063) (2004) with Paul Giamatti
2) Sideways (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt1236373/) (2009) a Japanese remake of the 2004 flick.
But the lighting mood of Sideways doesn’t suggest the first screenshot all dark and serious.
Also, no where in the movie Sideways does anyone look like they dress up for a wine tasting.
And I have no idea how Zeppelin is connected.
But a "tray of wine" isn’t something you can easily look up with google.
Not even IMDb without someone listing something no one’s even heard of as a significant prop to the story.

The Ip Man trilogy is on my watch list, as soon as I figure out what’s what.
It got confusing at some point after 2 came out. A lot of different places used different titles so that made it confusing.
I’ll have to sort it out with IMDb and search that way to make sure I got the right ones.
Donnie Yen is a remarkable actor/martial artist.
I remember Iron Monkey when it came out and then saw him in a few other notable films much later.
I can understand, after Ip Man 2 you had two separate releases in Ip Man Zero and Ip Man: The Final Fight. The former is a prequel and the latter is a bookend. Donnie Yen’s Ip Man trilogy is the be all and end all though I recommend the other two just as much (personal opinion).
Which I think "yip" is just the romanization of the Chinese characters, why all the confusion.

I love origin stories for martial arts.
Fearless (2006) "Huo yuanjia" is excellent. There’s about 3 different versions on bluray.
I’ve watched 2 of the cuts so far. I think I like the longest cut best, but I have to rewatch.
The other version: The Grandmaster (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/The_Grandmaster_(film))

Hehe, I knew someone would get it! Probably even if they haven’t seen the movie considering how much I’ve been fanboying over the film recently. :p

George Miller. George. Miller.
I’m gonna post another one. Just for the hell of it. Let’s see who recognises it – It’s actually a very recognisable photo from the film. :p
Infinite, I suppose. :noonecares:
It’s never been an issue before.
It’s recent, however.
Maybe….maybe I’ll post another one from the same film :p

The whole movie looks good, for a dystopian, post apocalyptic chase film. Am really curious how it all looks in b/w. Black & Chrome edition slated to street at the end of Nov.

The Chronicles of Narna The Voyage of the Dawn Trader?
CORRECT! That’s my boy. Good guess. It’s an impressive dragon CGI for 2010, isn’t it? The dragon is much prettier than the boy he is at the begining!
Kinda sad that Narnia will never be finished movie franchise wise and due to the many years that have passed by, it will lose any trace of continuity, like the books have.

That’s excusable. I’ve seen them all, but a nice rewatch wouldn’t do me bad, they are great movies. I’ve got the first two in Blu-ray only need me the third.
SparkTank will like this comment; I wish there was a version of this movie in 2:40 for Blu-ray. I know the 1:78 of the Blu-ray is an OPEN MATTE, but sue me I like 2;40 widescreen more enough. Funny though, the times I watched it at TV they were showing it in the 2;40 version..

I get it because of the lighting in the film.
But other movies don’t nearly have it as bad.

I don’t think it would be clever to guess that’s from Episode III. It should be pretty obvious what it’s from, at least to me it is.
Plus the film grain.
Maybe Domino or one of those movies that tries to imitate the film style.

When it’s zoomed out. Not the final shot zoomed all the way in.
Actually, a lot of the shots are iconic.
Even the hallways with the rugs. Everyone remembers how you hear his little bike making noise on the hardwood and then soft and silent on the carpets.
That’s one of the greatest things I love about the film is how Kubrick establishes the atmosphere and the isolation of the gigantic hotel.

I like my share of bad movies too, ya know. But when a movie is bad, oh boy is it bad. X:Men: The Last Stand was the beginning of the end for the franchise. Origins: Wolverine only made things worse.
But you like your share of great movies as well. T2. That’s enough right there 😉

I thought X-Men Origins: Wolverine was an okay movie. I saw it when it came out. Probably with the least of the franchise, though.

My friend wouldn’t know that. She only knows the remake because of Michael Pitt.
And she knows him because of "The Dreamers". And she knows that because of all the sex and full frontal nudity in it.
And incest.
Eva Green is in "The Dreamers" with Michael Pitt. It’s hard to see her with so much clothes on in recent films knowing how liberal she was.
Especially for a kids movie.
Also in the remake to Funny Games: Tim Roth and Naomi Watts.
I don’t think my friend would know any name execpt Michael Pitt. She could probably come to learn Eva Green once that School of Mutants movie comes out.

But he couldn’t stand Nightcrawler. It was very cutthroat Hollywood to negatively portray the media for the sake of a twisted story.
Natural Born Killers is a more apt depiction of how sick the media can get. Oliver Stone is a genius.
My brother pointed out the ethics the movie would have to break for a legit media business. But then with the CNN for USA and BBC for the UK, no one really likes the media that much, anyway.
That was fun.
Ho, you just wait until it’s my Turn !! (which will never happen since i am pretty bad at this)
A movie with a ‘motorbike’ is too vague.
I know The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo drives a bike throughout.
And there is a great deal of corruption.
But police made it extensively narrow. :smrt:
Nightcrawler showed up earlier in searches, but the way you worded it to sound like a contract killer made it difficult.
Again! Again!

Just shoot for it.
There’s been activity from lurkers who seem to want to play.
Just free for all it so they have a chance.

Yeah, the hint I gave for The Place Beyond the Pines was probably a bit too specific, and the one for Nightcrawler I should’ve phrased differently.
Sorry, I took so long to reply, but I wanted to take some celebratory bonus screenshots from The Place Beyond The Pines!
All from during the montage scene where the police officers are being arrested after recently being exposed.
Shouldn’t be that hard…
Man Eats Dog or Dog Eats Man. :p

Yes, you should give it a Watch if you get the Chance Sparky, it’s pretty good.
:rofldata: The file itself got corrupted to the point where it broke.
That actually looks funny, considering the theme is about corruption. Haha.
I’m just taking screenshots of a nice little flick for future use.
It’s only available on DVD so I have to inverse telecine the video first to get it back to 23.976 and then crop any black borders and clean up the picture a bit.
Because it’s older and a lot more indie, the picture transfer isn’t that clean so the borders are dirty and need fixing to remove any leftover black borders.
For sake of screenshots, I’m resizing to the intended sample aspect ratio instead of leaving it as the display aspect ratio (which would look squished as it’s anamorphic).
———- Post added at 01:46 PM ———- Previous post was at 01:17 PM ———-
Here’s that DVD one I was fixing.
I took a lot of screenshots and upped to SomeImage since they allow thumbnail albums.
Imgur can lag since they load the full image so browsing there is only recommended if you can wait for the page to load.
It’s an indie film. Not too recent but not too old either.

Fffff… no idea!
Meanwhile I must give credit to this gent…
I’ve got it! Saturn 3
Correctamundo!
Still not identified…
Try to id these also…
That was fun.
LOL for you maybe, I have never seen Nightcrawler but I have seen The Place Beyond the Pines…once.
It’s more fun for me if there is something to go. Remembering a random object from a movie you thought you knew well is frustrating.

Another shot.

I recognize that one right away…session 9!
Also be careful with the screenshots, that one gave away the answer. :p

That’s true. I know exactly how it feels.
It’s kind of also like detective work, though. Sometimes a screenshot contains clues… sometimes… well, maybe not. :p
YES!

Bonus shots.

A good indie horror film.
Fans of ‘urban exploration’ will also find a warm spot for this asylum flick.
Iconic shot, also on the cover.

If You Click The Image, So You Can Actually See It….. It Says The Name…..
:rofldata: G’dammit.
I should use Imgur for the game, and SomeImage for the album.
IIRC, he and a few other old Shit Shooters from the STS days recommended the movie to me.

I sort of remember that…creepy damned movie…bizarre score as well.
@ fixional,
I have no clue where those screenshots came from, but then again the memory isn’t as sharp as it used to be. 🙁

All I know is that’s Greg Kinnear… :p

Wait, is that from Little Miss Sunshine?
I can’t be sure because it’s been a while since I’ve watched it.
Welp, who goes next?
Someone else’ll probably get it.
The Magnificent Seven?
The one that Star Trek uses? Spectre of the Gun.
Yes.
Spark, you have negaTiVo! Get medical help immediately! :p
Like instead of recording your favorite TV shows, it just records all the spoilers and cliff hangers instead.
Is it The Pacific? The HBO show?
(sorry, I’m just trying to come up with other ways to answer ‘no’. :p)

*Passchendaele, the only Canadian-involved war movie in history.
Everyone wants to make a WW2 movie. They want their own Tom Hanks.
Of COURSE!
DAMN IT! I could have gotten it right last night but I was tired and irritated already and did not want to be wrong.
Zoran, shut down the forum for a bit. :notgood:
:p
I’ll give you a clue. It’s not a scoreboard. And it’s hanging out of a space ship.
If I’m not mistaken, that’s from "How to Get Ahead in Advertising" with Richard E. Grant.
OK, back to work.
Outstanding! Get you a case of beer for that one.

Of course, sir! Could it be the best movie ever made? Probably.
No (although kind of on the right track (it’s anime)) and no.
Nah, I’m pretty sure that’s Back to the Future. 😮
Might want to re-up to Imgur that gives random letters.
But I’m going to look that movie up. A lot of actors in it.
Patlabor 2!
I thought that was a toughy as no main characters were in the scene. But well done, give yourselves a pat on the back!
Is it the Dead Zone?
———- Post added at 04:09 PM ———- Previous post was at 04:08 PM ———-
Damn. The only one I got so far was The Place Beyond the Pines.
Is it the Dead Zone?
That is a really old car.
Is it one of them Jason or Michael movies? I don’t watch them.
No, and no. :p
Well, not that unique. 😉
It’s a very ominous shot.

The Corruptor!
"WE KILL YOU UNCLE BENNY!"
That’s not the scene. But that part always makes me laugh.
:rofldata:
Excellent!
Pffff. I’m getting ready to kick myself.
No please don’t!!!
Okay, okay. Here’s a clue for you guys.
Alan Silvestri scored the film. :p
I never made the call! :p

Best love story ever told.
And with Horror you mean Keanu’s Accent, right ?
No worse than Liam Neeson playing a cowboy. (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yk2r8DDUhDg) :p
Did you mean to post a German Video ? :p
The only alternative was to use one recorded from a cell phone with someone snickering.
Germans can call themselves lucky, we have the best Dubs,
it’s a huge Industry over here because the People are too dumb to
learn a Language as easy as English…
Most of the movies over at rutracker have at least 6 different dubs.
Their movie files are so bloated that when you remux to English only, it’s a fraction of the size you downloaded.
But our Industry consists of more than 2 People !

You don’t know the meaning of horror. This will leave you cold…
Exodus! Gods and Kings.
An amazing screenshots, too.
It’s not what I thought it was, anyway.
I don’t remember taking half of them.
I’ll just go.
So you’re partial ways there.
So you’re partial ways there.
That makes me feel great.
For some reason I feel so awkward. Chill. Chill.
I’m excited.

I’ll make bonus screens in case someone gets it.
It is a really good movie.I’d say it’s my favorite, but I have way too many favorites at this point.
Really love the story to it.Couldn’t see it being made any other way.
I’ll have to do bonus screens later.
I’ll take some screens of the 3-in-1 I’m doing right now but will sort them out for tomorrow.

Welp, I think that’s all the movies on my hard drive[s]. Time to move to DVDs.
Those look brand new, like royalty is expected. How cute to think of Captain Jack Sparrow as royalty. 😮
I imagine…
1) It’s been done in real life in those days
2) to signify the district
But, so many movies leave out the banners. I think because they made the shot look too clustered so leaving them out to get a nice camera tilt works for most other movies.
———- Post added at 05:30 PM ———- Previous post was at 05:29 PM ———-

@Sparktank: The Egytian?

The Nikita remake.
Yes it works if you choose from url, but not from computer.
What do you use to upload images?
Yes it works if you choose from url, but not from computer.
What do you use to upload images?
I use imgur. The Statham is right. If you "retrieve it" then they store it on the ffshrine servers as well, and it is visibly tagged as such. Since they have a file size limit, that doesn’t always work.
If you don’t retrieve it but merely reference it, it works so long as the original hoster doesn’t kill the image or move it.
What a space queen that Baron is.
EDIT: Yes! Dune it is.

I’m way too full from eating so much pizza so here’s one bonus screen.
Once I get Win10 set back up to the way it was for Win7, I’ll make some movie fingerprints and insane screenshots of movies.
For some reason I think that this might be that movie. Could that be or am I just talking nonsense here?? 😀
I think it was a comedy film with a bit of horror mixed in. Not sure though, I was very young at the time.
But more than that description I don’t know. But I do think it is That movie. Haven’t got a clue what the name is ofcourse.
I also loved Belushi and Aykroyd in The Blues Brothers. There’s another classic.
Yes! 😀
Yes indeed!
Odd movie. I couldn’t finish watching it.
The dream seqeuences come off more as a college project than a creative plot device.
I mean, I love David Lynch’s work, so that’s the wide spectrum I can get used to, but this was odd, even for a David Lynch fan.

My friend really loves this movie. She’s a huge Jim Carrey fan.
I am, too. But I keep trying to watch this movie but somehow can’t piece it right.
I just watch Inception later. :p
No, nice guess ,though.
Oldboy is much raggier than that.

Raymond Wong
Such a good movie. I haven’t watched it for so long. What a treat when you take a long time in bewteen rewatching.
Some of the music copies bits from The Matrix, how they slow the string instruments to make it sound warped.
But, it’s forgiveable. It’s not blatant or anything like with 300 ripping off Titus or anything.
I just love the story and music. It’s very inspiring.

My turn.
Hmm. Timothy Dalton and a cross between Kiefer Surherland and younger Jeff Bridges….
That’s Anthony Edwards on the right, which makes it the movie HAWKS (1988) with music by Barry Gibbs (BeeGees).
I’ll give you that, it’s in fact Home Alone 4, but is otherwise known as aforementioned.
Undoubtedly the worst film of the Home Alone franchise.
So that’s where they go to die….
So that’s where they go to die….

Okay, so it’s actually both really hard and really easy.
Felt like jumping in – couldn’t tell if anyone guessed this, but Last Year at Marienbad? I distinctly remember the garden and how all the shadows are messed up.

Very, very, VERY close.

I ought to put another pic up.

Invasion of the Body Snatchers.
It’ not Thunderbolt and Lightfoot. Great flick tho!
But funnily enough the title also begins with Thunder…
I’m going to ponder yours with Olly Reed.
……..
Ah, what was I thinking, of course you do! I don’t think he’s in any other war film similar to this one anyway. 😮
One of my fave Reed flicks was The Three Musketeers. He ‘was’ Athos, Other actors don’t cut the mustard!
As far as desert flicks go, there’ve been some good ones. Recently I watched The Secret of the Sahara (Ennio Morricone) – not bad. I think this is a mini-series that’s been made into a single film, a bit like Das Boot was.
"Cross of Iron"
Bingo!
