They can’t use numbers from Halo Wars because RTS doesn’t work on console.
Command & Conquer on XBox has a huge learning curve because they removed so many functions for the keyboard and mouse combo.
I wonder if they’ll figure out a way to give her reasons to cross over with Flash and Arrow.
It’d be pretty cool if she gave them a watch to contact her anytime they needed some extra help. Like the one Superman gave to Jimmy Olsen.

The HBO too.

Burn baby, burn?
Sherlock Holmes said that. RDJ version.
He had a really fun way of pronouncing it.
Very articulate.
"Fun with letters" (syllables / enunciation)
:erm: At least I think it was he…
Who knows if this translated correctly…

Who are you referring to, George?
NP: Escape from Torture *****
He made me say it right after he said it…
where’s my disc…
The Sherlock Holmes bluray I have has the reworked + re-released bluray where they got Jared Harris to voice the shadow figure in the cart.
The original release prior to the casting of Jared Harris for AGoS, it was just some random voice actor.
Deep and gutteral voice. All bass and scratchy.
Harris has a very different voice pattern so they had to go back and tweak the first movie to keep it consistent with AGoS.
This was unannounced, of course.
But I generally liked the idea that Moriarty was principally uncast and a total mystery until the second film.
The mystique of this villain was portrayed perfectly without Harris’ voice.
I still struggle to find the original audio on bluray.
I know it’s on DVD. I still got that lying around.
NP: Escape from Torture *****
I was referring to he who knows no bounds, but knows where to go, though not when.
Deinde destinatio eius est obscurum…
or something to that effect.
Latin is awesome, but this is a little screwy. Past and present tense aren’t sure of my intentions, it seems.
I believe "Reditum Iterum" translates to "Return again", and "Aestas" means "Summer", or something along those lines, but Google Translate is far from perfection with it’s translations…
Latin remains one of a unique language, considering almost all languages stem from and utilizes aspects of it in some sort of way or another.
Not nearly enough to make even the smallest conversation.
Just a phrase here and there, and some stuff I’ve heard in movies, etc.
I would have loved to taken a college course on it (since highschools don’t carry them; so library was all I had).
I would have appreciated the bit in Monty Python so much more.

( I think Latin came first )
Just looking at some basics to a lot of different langauges, you can see a lot take influence from the Latin language.
You can’t tell anyone who natively speaks Spanish that it shares some origins with Latin.
Just does not translate, at all.
It’s a completely foreign concept that defaces what they already learned (first).
I started with a dictionary and when looking up words, I was curious about the origin being either Latin or Greek.
I don’t know why, but Latin was funner.
Over the years, I can’t remember squat right now, but there are some words spelled the same or just off by a letter or two that appear in multiple languages across oceans.
Of course, that idea didn’t go well trying to tell anyone that their words have been spotted in different languages to mean other things.
I remember for a long good while when Facebook just started, people across the WORLD wide web would argue over what one word means in their own language.
Exact same spelling, slightly different meaning.
No race could ever compromise or understand. They wanted to claim one word for their own country.
The less English you knew, the angrier you would get and then everything turns hot white and just disappears into the universe.
For learning other languages, I think Latin would serve as a tool to bridge the gaps between different languages that share some of the same roots.
Of course, a course in history of the language would help.
Where influence came from, how different words were over the centuries, who ruled the country, who was partners with another ruler.
Latin has ancient Latin, and modern Latin and BS Latin (Pig Latin).
I preferred the ancient Latin. It’s what’s used in movies about devils and Satan.
Other than that, the only other use it as is for movies about Catholic religion.
Hell, demons, Satan, exorcism, etc.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen an exorcism movie that involves Protestants or Mennonites, or any other denomination of "Christianity".
Catholicity wipes everything off the board.
Other than Catholic possession, there’s some movies on Jewish religion.

There’s probably a lot more examples out there.
Some small things I’ve seen here and there.
But to write a full article on it? I’m not going to google for any such blog.
You can even go microscopig and break it down to how each word is broken down, like dictionaries do.
( I think Latin came first )
Latin stemmed from a mystery language (generally called the Indo-European language). This mystery language also had descendants spoken by barbarian tribes, the Greeks, the Baltics, and many more peoples.
I have a book with a big chart of all the languages that supposedly have roots in this Indo-European tongue. No one can prove anything except that some words in one language sound a lot like words in another language that have the same meaning.
I’m far from being a linguist but I have to wonder if at least some of it’s just coincidence, or if it’s human nature of some kind to assign certain sounds to certain things. The idea of all languages ever sharing one common ancestor seems a bit far-fetched.
One girl made a "discovery" a while back: an American Indian tribe shared some words that almost sounded like Japanese words (http://magazine.uchicago.edu/0010/class-notes/newsmaker.html). Wowza! She made the rational conclusion that a long, long time ago some Japanese dudes went to America.
I don’t know a lot, but I think I’m smart enough to know that there were no Japanese in America during the Medieval period. It’s just so outlandish, and it’s all based on coincidence.
———- Post added at 09:33 PM ———- Previous post was at 09:30 PM ———-
Et tu scis, quomodo?
That’s redundant, I think.
"Scis" is already second-person. "You know". No need for the "tu" there.
I think.
I think it (roughly) translates to "And you know how?", that’s at the least what Google Translate says. It’s what I meant nonetheless.
I have a book with a big chart of all the languages that supposedly have roots in this Indo-European tongue.
:ashine: I want a book like that…
It has to look old and smell of musty leather.
No one can prove anything
Thus, WWWW started (World Wide Web Wars)
an American Indian tribe shared some words that almost sounded like Japanese words (http://magazine.uchicago.edu/0010/class-notes/newsmaker.html).
I can hear influence from Asian languages in some Native American Indian First Nations tribes.
My own tribe, Tsimshian, all sounds very slurred. A lot of "SH" sounds.
Like Mandarin has a lot of "sh" sounds.
Cantonese doesn’t that many "sh" sounds. It’s more of a harder language.
If words can become phsyical objects based on they sound, Mandarin would be soft and fluffy objects while Cantonese would cut the air as they would be knives and blunt objects.
Tsimshian would be a bowl of mush. Mushed taters.
First Nations have thousands of tribes, so thousands of dialects.
China also has thousands of dialects, too.
Mandarin is the nation’s official language, so everyone is forced to learn Mandarin.
But a lot of small villages not on the map will have a dialect of Chinese and probably know Mandarin, too.
Someone told me that their relatives know Cantonese back home, but if they ventured too far in one direction, the town they would run into, no one would know the "same Cantonese".
But, they were saved because they all knew the same Mandarin.
Well, at least, one party member did. The youngin’s mostly knew Cantonese because of their older parents yelling at them all the time.
Even in Cantonese in Hong Kong, there’s a formal way of saying things and then a "street" way of saying things.
Faster, shorter, to the point, and mostly by kids on the streets to break away from their home life and authoritive parents.
I don’t know a lot, but I think I’m smart enough to know that there were no Japanese in America during the Medieval period. It’s just so outlandish, and it’s all based on coincidence.
I heard an "ice theory" where there used to be a glacier that connected parts of Asia to Canada and that’s where a lot migrated from, the ice cap melted, thousands got stranded, changed their way of life over generations, and eventually turned into the First Nations that we know as recorded from Christopher Dumbus.
No.
It’s not that major of an event to make it across all the social pages on Facebook.
Geek.com, ExtremeTech (they do more then tech), Ars Technica, and there used to be others I followed.
they all circulate the same stories sooner or later.
Outside of what they post, I don’t know any more.
I heard the ice bridge theory back when… some time ago I don’t care to remember.
I unfollowed a number of the pages that had lots of interesting stories because they all sooner or later were just copy/paste stories.
Or just reposting the same thing every 3 months.
There used to be some really fun archeological posts every few months.
———- Post added at 08:40 PM ———- Previous post was at 08:34 PM ———-
2009 is the earliest I can find on that theory:
http://www.manataka.org/page410.html
I was following a lot more pages on facebook at that time.
But don’t recall any debunk theories.
Natives are not very well publicized or interesting, imo. Probably why it went vastly under the radar.
I don’t know a single relative that has even heard of the ice bridge theory, let alone the debunking.
We don’t even keep an open communication on ourselves, short of public gatherings for either protesting or food.
Imho, we’re not very cultured anymore.
A lot of the information is passed on by word of mouth from the Elders.
And the Elders hate everyone except their own blood.
They demand a lot from you to learn one iota of your own culture from them.
It sounds fair, I guess.
But, it’s really stupid.
Over the next 10 generations, there will be less and less information available and a lot lost due to arrogance.
There’s not that many books at all on one single tribe.
Only a small handful on Tsimshians.
Hundreds on the more popular tribes: Haida, Cree, etc.
And it’s not something I will randomly look up one day to find out if something is still valid.
I have zero faith in my own culture.
Largely because I know how fat and lazy they are.
What a fun social experiment.
The technology we have is great.
But it could do a lot better.
And not necessarily in the way of scifi movies.
The minute I read a Garfield cartoon where he ate his food in pill form, I knew we reached the maximum capacity of what we’re capable of as a human being.
I was frickin 6 at the time.
———- Post added at 10:27 PM ———- Previous post was at 10:26 PM ———-
Essentially it came down to core sampling to determine whether the region supported the necessary flora and fauna in the post-glacial period for any sort of extended human migration to take place. The research revealed it never did. This conclusion would bolster the theory that early Asiatic immigrants to the North American continent arrived by water.
They came by air.
Eventually, you have to use your travel miles.
On dragons.
———- Post added at 10:35 PM ———- Previous post was at 10:34 PM ———-
Perhaps you’ve come across the recently published research which debunks that ice bridge theory?
The toll charges were ridiculous.

Hate to be a wise ass, but word 13 is incorrect. The English word ‘die’ doesn’t exist in Italian. The Italian word ‘di’ (The i prounounced as in the English ‘trip’) on the other hand means ‘from’ in English. Just sayin’. Thank you by the way 🙂
