I’d be lying if I said I thought all of these recordings, from the underpaid, underrehearsed, overworked, sweatshop days of the CoPP, were actually very good (some of them aren’t too bad, others are downright awful) but I’m so grateful for the chance to hear them, all the same.

When they were released they provided, in many cases, the only release of certain scores. The "Black Sunday" suite springs to mind; that was only just recently released, and the very generous 14 minutes on this album make a very satisfying "symphonic poem" listening experience that even the original soundtrack release can’t replicate, despite the often shoddy ensemble.
