The Beatles & John Lanchbery: FOOL ON THE HILL BALLET 1975 Cast DSD Remaster FLAC

The FOOL ON THE HILL Ballet, choreographed to the music of The Beatles by Gillian Lynne in 1975, was the first work created by the Australian Ballet expressly for television. The music was arranged, orchestrated and conducted by John Lanchbery.
The television production of Fool on the Hill premiered on Australian TV, Sunday May 23, 1975. The Ballet was later revised for the stage, receiving its stage debut on April 28, 1976. EMI recorded the Ballet with Lanchbery conducting the Sydney Symphony Orchestra with the original vocal soloists and cast which was released on LP only in Australia and has been out of print since the 1980s with no subsequent release on CD or any other format as of this writing. Australian LPs in the 1970s were plagued with some of the same aberrations as their American counterparts and the DSD archived LP I used for this download was unfortunately no exception, suffering from some surface crackle and the infamous vinyl bubbles, but I did the best job I could and hopefully you will be forgiving of the few imperfections in favour of hearing this fantastic score, which is pure enchantment from a musical standpoint.

Perhaps you should invest in the brand new LASER turntable, that will read the analog information from the grooves on an old LP disc, without any surface noise from scratches, or bubbles, or hiss! I read about this turntable about 20 years ago, and just saw a report that it has finally been released to the public! I think that audiophiles who love their old records, and think they have a better sound than CDs will really love this new invention! 🙂
