Solti’s interpretations are just brilliant, mostly on Bartok !
and what a nice and good surprise to have included Ashkenazy’s missing movement from Mussorgsky/Ravel’s masterpiece !!!

Mussorgsky/Ravel: Pictures……mmmmm……i choose Abbado/London Symphony. Great sound, recording, precision, a lot of nuances……and the Great Gate of Kiev simply impressive with the great trumpet of the master Maurice Murphy (R.I.P).

Abbado did a lot of wonderful things while he was in London, including a very good Pictures, but Solti-Chicago did it better. (And nobody can touch Solti-Chicago’s Bartok Concerto for Orchestra).
When are you going to start posting/sharing all these recordings that you enjoy so much?
