Dramatic music for a "documentary" narrated expedition. Previously mistakenly identified as the music for another RKO Lewis Cotlow jungle doc, "Savage Splendor"(1949).
Unreleased music, wave in Flac, no artwork. All thanks go to my music source.
Some "Unknown" cues were either unused, or the scenes are missing from the film. Some tracks were intended to be mixed together, which I did. Separate versions at the end.
47 tracks, 76:43 minutes, in two folders (tracks 1-19, 20-47).
PM for download links.

Got a few Sawtell scores a while ago from someone… seems like this is indeed Savage Splendor – at least that’s how the CD I got was marked by my generous source.

Probably originated from the same source. He’s never seen the film and guessed "Savage Splendor" by eliminating other titles from the list, and thinking the music seemed to match that film.

The "savage splendor" title (if accurate) sounds to me like conducive to good music! Tks.

Roughly comparing the synopsis of the documentary to the (style of) music it seems this is indeed ‘Savage Splendor’ as both Loki82 and Sadsack’s Source suggested.
However the film is only 60 minutes long and there is over 75 minutes of music. Granted, some of it is bare percussion beats, probably meant as connective tissue and to help out during editing but together these take up less than 3 minutes.
Of course it is not entirely unlikely Sawtell wrote 12 or more minutes of extra music ( he WAS an extremely prolific composer) but at least doubtful given the amount of work he took on .
The question if this is indeed SS, will be answered once TCM, who have the film in their catalogue, will air it. Unfortunately they don’t have any foreseeable plans to do so. Says here. (http://www.tcm.com/tcmdb/title/1494/Savage-Splendor/#)

I replied above to Loki82 that he probably got it (directly or indirectly) from my source as noone else would have this. So the speculative title would of course be the same and doesnt prove anything. And I already noted the music runs longer than the film. The third and most serious doubt for me comes from the music itself – sounds like a feature film action score (ie Tarzan), not a doc.

And at the bottom of the 9th its Jungle Headhunters leading Savage Splendor 1 to 0…

And I’ll just leave this here for the time being should Savage Splendor ever turn up…

This is really nice. It’s doubly handy having the cue titles since I sometimes search my entire library for generically similar cues as background music in tabletop rpgs (My memory needs the assistance) or for music to accompany specific genre reading (This does have a Tarzan/Ki-Gor/Jungle Tales kinda sound).
Thanks!
