Get it before the remake comes out! (Hopefully Marco Beltrami will be doing that one, he was about the only saving grace to The Omen remake!)

The isolated score (studio produced) on the bluray to Big Trouble In Little China is lossless and surround sound.
Perfect for any editing projects.

I can’t remember if it’s discreet surround sound. It’s synthesized music, so it should be easy for Carpenter to remix to create a surround sound environment for the music.

The La-La Land release was pretty much the exact same as what’s on the bluray.
Except downsampled to Redbook CD standards: stereo / 16 / 44.1
Also, the CD has a track for sound effects and other goodies.

This was a personal rip from my own bluray.

The bluray didn’t create a separate playlist to have chatpers according to music.
(Like what they did for The Corruptor on DVD)
Instead, the isolated score is just an extra track on the main movie playlist.
Blurays don’t contain metadata for chapters so names weren’t available upon extraction. Names have to be grabbed manually by looking at the menu when disc is inserted into bluray player and typed out.
Alternatively, you can use chapters from the Chapter Database to cross-reference.
http://chapterdb.org/browse/44611

And they seemed to went a little overboard adding one every 3 minutes. :erm:

Waveform: (converted to mono with ‘compand’ to brickwall the audio for better representation of where music starts/stops)

Spectrogram:
Order from top to bottom: Left, Right, Center, LFE, Side Left, Side Right
(https://imgur.com/6Y602SP)

There’s some LFE sound in this one. LFE isn’t meant to be as loud as the other channels as it’s low frequency only.
You’re going to blow your speakers if you try to level match the LFE with other channels.

Some idea of what to expect when listening to it.
Synthesized music, easy to create and master in 48kHz.

You know i have to have this 🙂 my bluray didn’t have a lossless isolated score track, so this is a nice upgrade. Thanks!

:0 I didn’t think they would have different releases for this. Blasphemy! Uniformity!

Enjoy 🙂

Thanks for this, Sparky.

I got my parents to rent it on VHS so much when I was a kid. I loved it.
I didn’t know that it bombed in theaters when it first opened. My dad was telling me about it when I bought it on bluray.

Definitely my most favorite Kurt Russell film.

No. This is going to be led by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson.
They might change Wang’s character to Kevin Hart, if Central Intelligence becomes a huge hit. (since Hollywood likes continuing buddy-trends)
But, fear not, they might give Gracie’s part to Melissa McCarthy.

Have yet to hear if they’ll write in a cameo for Kurt Russell.
So far, all the talk about DJ is for the Baywatch movie.

I shudder to think of a remake… and all the PC crap that’ll come with it… sigh…
