I have the Atmos version.
I have the Atmos version.
Hope it’s better than this one. I figured out why the CD sounds terrible. The 5.1 mix sounds like a upconvert from a 2.0 source. All the Instruments are mixed the same. The adult choir is still inaudible(at least in part 1 there was some cues where you could hear them if you isolated the back channels). And the cd release was a downconverted version with higher frequencies than the 5.1 mix.
I haven’t watched it yet.
It’s been sitting and waiting for a week but I’ve had no time to sit down to give it a proper watch.
It could be an upmix. Not a lot of movies make music for surround sound.
I think 7.1 is ridiculous for music.
Guardians of the Galaxy was composed for 5.1 only and the end credits show that perfectly. The back channels are just minor echoes of the side channels.
The only time I’ve seen real 7.1 mixes for music was John Wick. Not the commercial songs. But the composed music.
I think The Expendables 3 did okay, but overall, still better off with 5.1.
I plan on doing the whole series now that it’s complete.
Uploads for the day of retail release. In FLAC, as usual.
