Yeah, I’m curious: Why are all your uploads AIFF?
That’s MAC version of WAV, uncompressed.

Apple Lossless (ALAC) is equal to WAV/AIF/AIFF/FLAC/APE/etc.

The uploads/downloads would be smaller if they were losslessly compressed.
There wouldnt be any quality loss because lossless codecs are designed to be lossless.
Anyone saying otherwise doesn’t know anything about codecs or if English isn’t their first languge, they got a bad translation on the information.

The reason is I have them in Aiff and this way I can include artwork and comments. In WAV I cannot add the artwork. I have too many tracks in WAV, most of them without (correct) artwork. The last six months I converted to Aiff using XLD for my rips; it all suits me fine. I am not an expert on the matter, but I can recognize a HiFi track :).

Thank you for the alac details but I am not that smart and like to keep to the Aiff files. I hope that they are easy to use on a Windows machine.

Link received, thank you very much. My two cents to the aiff / alac discussion: I use Foobar 2000 on my Windows 7 Pro machine and it converts Aiff to FLAC or ALAC. No problem. And there is also dbpoweramp that can converts between many formats. So no problem so far here.
