So I’m noticing all these uploads from tidal hifi, so I decide to look for myself, and see this:

http://tidal.com/us/store/album/38909903

Now, I know the original CD version uses crossfades, whereas the digital version does not. I’d consider getting this but I don’t want to waste money on something I already have. Can anyone confirm if the Thifi version is flac but same as the itunes version or is it like the cd with crossfades and stuff? And if it’s like the itunes version except lossless, might anyone have it?

You do realize the sessions were leaked, right? No crossfades there…

They’re not lossless though, and hard to say when those will show

Tidal has 2 paid services:
Premium ($10). It just says standard defintion audio. Probably lossy formats.
HiFi ($20). It says ‘lossless’ on it.

But they also have 2 forms of delivery:
Lossless streaming and lossless download ("offline mode").

There’s no real information on the lossless streaming process.

Or any info for the "offline" mode.
Anyone with an account will not talk about the offline mode.

We would need a copy of a lossless stream rip, their offline copy, a cd rip, and a copy from another digital store to analyze it all.
Well, the CD rip would need absolute configuration of the software and hardware to get accurate results when compared to the digital store.

And Audiochecker should NOT be used, not even "just because it’s there".
It’s just not a reliable tool and results can be forged on lossy sources. You can google about it.

All these Tidal HiFi uploaders don’t say much about the process.
if it’s the offline mode or the streaming rip.

the itunes version has zimmer’s squetchbook and in the usa it comes with a digital booklet. i’d say that’s the better version 😉

+1 to digital. Remove the need of drive offset and uber calibrations for ripping.
